SOLVED Microstutter with Nvidia GTX 1070

Hi, i`m looking for a better/faster GFX Card. Is that Card fast enough for rF2?
With my GTX 1070 i get Microstutter with higher rF2 settings. Singleplayer, without AI`s.
PC Configuration: Intel Core i7-5820K, ASUS STRIX X99 GAMING, RAM DDR4 32GB, PCIe 3.0
Thats the one i thinking about to buy: EVGA Geforce Rtx 3080 Ti Ftw3 Ultra Gaming, 12 GB VRAM, 384 Bit (1.100 EUR)

You have to search more but for rFactor 2 (no ray tracing) one of the powerfull but PROFITABLE (fps vs price) is AMD 6900 XT or AMD 6950 XT.

Nvidia 4070 Ti too but more for ray tracing game (too expensive for not ray tracing games).

All these GPU have the horsepower of 3080 Ti and even 3090.

So I did replace my old PC just a month ago.
It was also an old CPU (i7-4770k) and even DDR3 RAM.
The first thing is, what resolution you play on?
The second, and I know that's not the question, but let me tell you that anyways,
you WILL need to upgrade your CPU (and therefore also Mainboard) to get any meaningful GPU upgrade.
No matter what GPU you will get, your CPU will bottleneck it pretty hard.
My 4770k did even bottleneck my 2080 in 4k.
So if you spend now money on a 3080Ti or 3090 you will not be able to use the card in it's full potential.
Wasted money really.
And I don't think it's a good idea to tell you to get a 10xx or 20xx card because they're that old (and still expensive).
With the current prices it is expensive to upgrade an old system.

Thanks for your reply. Where wou would see the bottleneck with my i7-5820K Processor and ROG STRIX X99 GAMING using with a e.g. 3080TI? Its a PCIe 3.0 Mainboard, the CPU is using a Memory bandwidth of 68 GB/s...tbh i cant see the bottleneck.
 
What HDD are you using? I ask because I have the same GPU and I am not getting stutters except in some sectors while In replay mode.

I have one SSD for the OS and a second SSD for installed programs. Mostly i get the stutterer in the end of the first lap. Even in practice and w/o any AI.

OK, you got me there.
I have no clue about any numbers for bandwidth of any PC part :D

But here some expert (sorry for all you non german speaker :p)
The time stamp in the link doesn't seem to work.
So either watch everything or start @5:55min

Edit: And I doubt your CPU is far in performance just because he has 2 more cores

Thanks for the interesting calculator link. I found something similar, to compare gfx cards:

Interesting, the 3060ti and the 3070 have the same amount VRAM as the 1070 have and even the bus bandwidth is the same for all...Looks to me its not worth the money?
 
In your place, I'll try if it's your budget to take one of the two GPUs I mentioned (6950 XT or 3070 Ti), and if possible overclock your RAM and CPU a little more.

Then save for a maximum period of 18 months, and buy the latest intel xx600K (13600K or 14600K) with of course a new motherboard not necessarily very expensive.

Many thanks for your reply, but its the same with the RTX 3070TI, same Bus bandwidth (256 Bit) and same amount of VRAM (8GB) as the GTX 1070 allready have...I fear i need to go for a 12 or 16 GB Card (very expensive*) or stay with my 1070 for the moment.

* for that money i could buy a very nice exhaust for my VT750 ;)

My mistake
4070 Ti not 3070 Ti or 6950 XT (3090 equivalent)

I have same card 1070 with an even older CPU and RAM and it's running good.
I see from your profile you just using a single 1920x1080 screen. Any card more than the card you have already would be overkill for a single HD screen.
Is your FPS still good but you get stutters?
To try fix your stutters:-
* Turn off Sparks.
* Have your replay file save to Memory not hard drive.
* Temporary turn off any plugins that you might be using to see if things get better.

Lol...Yes, it is a PCIe 3.0 Motherboard, but in Automatic Mode it seems not switching to 3.0. AIDA64 told me, that the GFX Card is connected through PCIe 2.0. After change that in the Bios and overclocking the CPU, its fine now. Most settings to full and 20 AI on Track without any Microstutter. Sorry for the the inconvenience i caused... Even thanks to all others specially to @DJCruicky , your Post was really helpfull, too.

Are you using a riser cable for your GPU?
I have this problem few time ago and the culprit was my case's riser.
