I know there has been plenty of discussion about the Mercedes AMG GT3 both here on the forum and on discord however i felt the need to post this. The AI absolutely can not drive the AMG GT3. Running at official tracks such as Imola in this video, they literally spin every single lap at the chicane. Its not just Imola, if a track has curbs, the Mercedes will spin. This has been a topic of discussion since this car was released 3 years ago, but I'm still hopeful a fix will be released.

As someone who mostly races against AI in rfactor 2, even though I absolutely love driving the sim, racing against the AI in basically any car and any track is a miserable experience these day. The AI are just terrible right now. Please S397, the AI are looooong overdue for some attention.

... over and over again, in a track release thread, you get some kickback. Doesn't mean there's no issue, nor that others are ignorant of them.

Chris Elliott has acknowledged on discord that they are working in resolving this issue, no ETA obviously.

I noticed the Merc jumping high on the curbs at the Nürburgring (last chicane AND the kink before)

thanks, since I have removed the Mercedes GT3, no more crash with AI, even at 66% for the aggression setting.
One more bug, on the long list. One more paid content we can't use.

I think, it's the s397 devs who have a kickback, rF2 is a infinite bugfest.

Yea I only use th Mercedes when I want to point out how bad this car is with AI. Normally I leave it out of AI races too

Being that the GT challenge season just started I would be surprised if we got any major updates to the car prior to December. That said I think just updating the base setup, which amazingly has a rear wing on 1(!!) would help some of these issues. How cars get released with mistakes in the setup like that....that's a whole other topic lmao

So quick question. Does the Mercedes AI problems simply come down to the rear camber setting? Compared to all other GT3 cars the difference between front and rear camber on the Merc is excessive. This usually leads to a very tail-happy behavior.

Can I add an altered, fixed setup for the AI? Would love to test this...

I see. Well, then it is up to the Studio to fix it.

I think the rear wing being a 1 is a bigger contributor to the rear being uncontrollable than camber tbh. There are deeper issues with this car though, beyond just setup. Chris Elliott has said they are "looking into it".........

The AI are still having issues with this car even after todays update. Car is v 2.87 in this video. Instead of AI spinning every single time at this corner they now spin about 1 out of 5. They spin about 1 out of 5 times at Portland, VIR, Indianapolis...etc still as well. So the issue has improved some but still not resolved.
