For the price of both you could probably buy a mx-5 and a good set of tires. I know which one I'd rather have. :p

Yes, but I wouldn't be able to drive it on LRP or Croft nor would I be able to destoy it several times cuz I don't get the uphill turn right. :p

Just for the record, here where I live the mx5 is considerd as a pu***y car ;) , rather buy a BMW E30 for that money. Again :p

But since the OP quoted Leo Bodnar to be working on making it affordable, I believe that price will come down. Question is, what does he consider to be affordable. ;)

    Cheers,
    Marcus

ecci 7000 is 2800usd plus tax so i would gather that leos wheel would be around that mark but i could be wrong because if he comes lower than ecci i will be very tempted to purchase this. Also the components used with this wheel or (motor) are expensive.

Compared to professional grade high end servo motor wheels, it is quite affordable at 3700 :)

It's going to have hydraulic FFB? Wowsers. This + a DSD pedal set... now that will be an amazing combo!

Check the prices of servo motors with enough power..
I wouldn't be surprised if that alone is a grand.

For some people who have a full on motion sim, actual cockpit, projection screens etc, your off the shelf g27 just doesn't cut it and they wish for a high torque direct drive servo wheel. There is just such a difference in torque delivery that it suddenly makes any commercial available wheel feel like a plastic toy.. These types of wheels are used in professional (f1) simulators, but not because they like the look so much. If people have the money, this is very affordable and money well spent if you ask me!

    Servo motor direct drive system
The way high end sim wheels are going, will be reliable too, no belts no ball screws or cogs etc

When I get my motion rig finally finished this will be my next project, not as complex as people think, the important thing is that these servo motors have the ability to brake your arms lol,
Soooooo important to cap the uper end of the forces of one of these

(Will have my custom modded frex ffb wheel for sale then!)
