Hi, VLM guys gave permission to share layout modifications on their Le Mans track. Some years ago I did a very rude mod for my private use. Just removed obstacles to drive the full Hunaudieres straight, without using the chicanes. It doesn't mean it is an authentic 1989 track, but the layout is very close to that. Also removed more walls to get rid of Dunlop chicane, obtaining another version, closer to a 1986 layout. I had fun driving those layouts and also used them for mod testing. Both 1989ish and 1986ish layouts include new AIW lines, so that we can race against AI. I also include original 1991 layout with improved AIW line in the final section. Thanks a lot to VLM for their content and for giving further permission to updates. Also thanks to Mauro for contacting VLM modders and achieving the permission! Post below or send me a PM and we can continue improving this... Enjoy it!

i renamed track name, folders, .mas files. so i think no conflict. you have a separate standalone 1986-1989 track
it's a separate standalone dx11 Le Mans 1986-1989 track you can see the screens on third post with the differences
Yes, Mauro, no problem. For me it was difficult to choose one... i installed/uninstalled both versions many times, checking for differences. For example, I think some kerbs look pretty bad in the old non-Dx11 version. However, the trees are too bright in the Dx11 version and rest of things were not so much better, imho.... I hope somebody can improve the Dx11 version so that it looks better, especially the trees because they are important on this track.
Does anybody have a photo or info as to where the Ferris wheel and the fun village was situated in 1986?
lol the 'fun' village. Do they really call it that? I used to get into arguments with track builders over Ferris wheels. I felt, being a purist, that the mod maker should research the rotational speed and the average length of the ride AND how long it took to stop and start and stop and start to load and off-load passengers. Yes, in my youth I was a butt.
Yes Dave i was like that about the flash rate on indicators, dont bother these days. Not enough hours in the year. This Ferris has lights but no rotation timing. lol
I know, I'm a complete pita but, how's about getting the go ahead to convert the VLM '77 and '79 le Mans tracks?... Feel free to disregard, I chose to think out loud, not a good idea even at the best of times.
Hi all, a few days before the publication of this post, "ling" told me about the 1977 version of VLM and the possibility of bringing it to rFactor2. I made some settings for it (private mode) and then I discovered this post. The comments that VLM granted permission to their works respecting (of course) the original creators and giving credit.... Always with respect and with fear of being able to live up to the great modders I want to share my work with all of you. As always any collaboration and advice will be welcome to improve this emblematic and essential track everywhere.
