Hi, good work! Any plan to implement proper 3d grass?? Screenshots still look flat...
Agree on the grass , AMS grass seems similar but has height .
But i really like the shadow improvement . Hopefully this will help performance .
I wonder why ISI never at least tried something like SRW, their Mid Ohio track is pretty sweet with that grass even tho it is a bit too tall

I really would like to see 3D grass too. I asked about this months (years?) ago and I was told that they didn't implement it because they didn't like it, even if the tech was already in place.
I think that the lack of it really kills immersion on many tracks: they look very flat to me too.
I remember that it was an artistic decision, because grass meshes have the tendency to look blocky and wierd under changing lightning conditions. Not a big dealbreaker for me, but for some people there could be an option to maybe switch it on or off as in other games. Dk about the technical implementation for rF2 though. Most modded tracks that I have seen with 3D grass looked a bit wierd, especialy at night or under sun set and sun rise.
My personal opinion is that I have never seen 3D grass that didnt look terrible. ISI/S397 track grass looks fine

yes...GRASS IS NEEDED...because looks gorgeous!
At the same time I think we need new marshalls 3D models and 3D people...
On Discord, Marcell talked about the decision to model good 3D Props in order to have good looking screens moving around with camera or during streams...so new grass and new 3D people models can improve the visual of the sim...
It's a shader so dirt will always be a car-related feature, the existing cars simply need to be updated with the new shader. ISI only made updates to a couple of cars per year, whereas other sims like AMS provide constant shader updates for all their content along the build releases. I hope there will be a similar approach adopted for rF2.

I'm new to this pc lark but when ever I see people post YouTube vids of ams rf2 or iracing,they look amazing.
I'm running a gtx 1060 triple 24" 1080p monitors and an i5 4690k and it looks no where near as realistic or detailed,do these people posting these vids upscale they or add effects
new roadmap - dx11 and so on.. bla bla bla... but what the f*kwith this
why right rear tires on 3 cars not on the track (shadow also shows that the tires not on track)!!(&&&!!and this is official pictures, not modders... still the same.... cars and track lives their own.. there is no fiiling the car on track (yes, we see car, we see track,, but the not together) - this pictures proof this... as it was in 2012 still there...
Well, DX11 implementation is an alpha, so probably that's just a shadow issue...
or maybe its not dx11(not graphics) - for example phisics bugs . and what we see its what is really go in on, for example tires bug - tires just compressed and we see that, but there is no reason why ....
they need to try harder
isn't the screenshot zoomed in a lot? Maybe it is a lower LOD because of distance? At least I haven't seen this in game with these cars from up close.
EDIT :: off course for screenshots like this, it isn't a good situation no matter what the reason, but for performance it would be needed while driving I suppose
That's what everyone says, that their rF2 doesn't look as good as screenshots. There's usually a very simple reason behind it: screenshots have a carefully selected angle and a carefully selected time of day (same with videos on the second point). If you run rF2 track in daytime it looks much different than in morning or afternoon hours, the same with most other games. Morning/evening with deep shadows fool the eye and make it look better.
What sort of magic is this?
