I'm happy to wait until they get to Road Atlanta, Road America, Mosport, Mont Tremblant, Watkins Glen and Barber before going to survey some European tracks
uhm, maybe, just maybe, Tim doesn't survey in Europe, but an european does that??? Silverstone was done by..... tuttle?.... At least not by Tim
WE need? I'd prefer to see tracks we have never seen in recent sims. It's boring having the same tracks recycled in every sim out there. Diversity is what I would like to see.
Is that cos they aint the shape of an egg as most of 'em in the good old US of A are? * tongue planted firmly in cheek *
It's mostly just a question about license prices. According to Tim European tracks tend to ask for ridiculous sums compared to American, so that's why rF2 has lately more USA content. I don't see this changing unless concept of paid DLC was introduced. Income from multiplayer renewals is likely less than what was expected, so that alone will not cover such costs.
CMON heaps of nice tracks in AUS but you dont see ppl complaining that ISI is doing nothing. AUS does have the best mountain track in the world in BATHURST. All comes dwn to licencing and what they can afford. I am just happy they have given us more content than RF1.
Yea you are right mates, Spa sucks so the Ring, Emola, Barcelona,Mugello,Zolder.....Asians tracks suck too as Suzuka, Fuji!
I just hope that ISI finds the time to update some of the existing content such as the historics. With the last build or two, it has become even more obvious that they are due for a refresh.
This just made my day... ISI Track Team @ISITrackTeam 3m "First WIP and comparison images of @rFactor2's @ATLMotorPark ... exciting" rFactor2 @rFactor2 4m "Trackdev update @ATLMotorPark Terrain/track surface done. Gives a nice vision of elevation too with 3D model visible! " RFactor2 added 3 new photos (Facebook): "Here is a track development update for Atlanta Motorsports Park - showing the terrain, and giving you a sense of the elevation due to the overlay 3D model. The track surface elevations and surrounding terrain are now complete... We think it would be very hard for someone to laser scan and produce a better model - we're willing to see someone try. "
It's nice to see the progress but it would be even nicer if they would work on one content at a time because this way they will never finish. Or at least to release some type of schedule. There are 3 tracks (and who knows how many cars) in the works now (Jacksonwill, Mountain Peak and Atlanta Motor Park) according to the videos/news. Also this Atlanta track looks cool and nice and everything but I bet it will be forgotten after about 2 weeks just like the Tigermoth Aerodrome because it's not a well known track, nobody plays it, period. rFactor 2 has only two well known (around the world), top-class tracks: Silverstone and Interlagos. The others are nice but not popular and/or not really attractive to potential new customers so imo rF2 needs more something like Bathurst, Brands Hatch, Mosport, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen, easily recognizable and well known/popular track(a) amongst racing drivers. Some better labor utilization needed.
