SOLVED How often your RF2 crash?

I also have to say (didn't mention in my last comment) that the problems i had and still have (despite much less frequent) are essentially freezes, slow downs, no matter if online or offline, but right now everything seems much better with the transition to the DX11, before i used to have black screens, etçª...

In all circuits?
With all cars?
From the first moment that you open the rF2, or after a while?

Yes, randomly, with any combination, clean install, etçª, usually it happened after a while...

FYI i changed my GPU 3 times and PC components 3 times! Now is all ok, after DX11, some slowdowns from time to time but nothing special...

Could it be cpu temp?
We've had a couple of guys in our web with this problem and the cause was that the temp of the cpu was too high.

Could be then related to some networking issue you have? like noise or data loss?
My network is also used for online PC servicing/repair internationally, quite often to a very slow network.
If there were any network issues I am sure I would have noticed this by now.
No, the only networking issue we have is rF2 crashing online and this mainly in the last two months.

Seems that I will embark in some quest for the holidays : find what cause sporadic CTDs.

Lool, good luck, you'll need it (speaking from a guy that lost some several sleep nights trying to find out what was the problem with my black screens/freezes), at least it was only with rF2!

Further update: after discovering that there is a folder called SUPPORT, and following the advice to run all the 4 .EXE into the folder, I've never experienced a single CTD. It has beed quite frustrating to discover this folder and his content in 2017 after 5 years I had a crashy RF2.

Some other software products require installing 3rd party tools during the main software installation. I wonder why all the executables are not installed just in case.

Meanwhile, I miss a FAQ sticky thread with most common problems and their fixes. We are repeating the same things over and over:

For general problems
- remove DX9 plugins (delta best, trackmap, ...)
- delete cbash and shaders folder
- delete userdata folder
- check in video config that preferred graphics card is selected.
- disable rivatuner
- verify the integrity of the cache under steam-rfactor2-properties
- run the vcredist executables under support folder
- reinstall latest graphics drivers after completely uninstalling the ones installed.
- reinstall rfactor2 as the last resource.

For DLC and official content problems
- unsuscribe and resuscribe
- check if older content is being used by some race event
- verify antivirus not blocking
