I want to make a dedicated server for my league racing series (https://guldagermathias.wixsite.com/goldracingleague), but I am having a little problem with making the server, I have tried to read and follow the steam post most people have sent me to but it did not work so I tried the one in the game files called Rfactor2 Dedicated, but it just said no mod files or installed mods found. Can anybody please help I want it as simple as possible.

    Thank You in advance
    -Mathias :)

You need to have some mods installed to your game... Cars and tracks... They go into your rFactor2/Packages folder and then you install them through the Launcher... When that's done you'll need to create an rFmod also know as a vmod... And then you load that on the dedicated server :) And if you can't find the server in the server-list... Then you have to look into some port forwarding on your router.

Oooh you have a long way to go yet with hosting.....

    Go here: https://portforward.com/ports.htm
Search for rFactor/rFactor2 and click on rF2... Then you are forwarded to a page where you find your router - you have to figure out which router you are behind on your local area network...

Then you just follow the instructions when you've found and clicked on your router...

For example this is a guide taylored for my router: https://portforward.com/netgear/wnr3500lv2/

Mathias, can you tell us exactly what you have done so far ?
If you have installed a Steam Dedicated server then , you have to make a shortcut to rFactor2 Dedicated.exe on your desktop with an addition to the command :
rFactor2 Dedicated.exe" +path=".." (I have marked the addition in bold, ignore the "f1", I have multiple installations, F1, GT3 etc)
If you do not add this (with the space) you will get the "no mod files or installed mods found" message.

Good luck, not the easiest task to setup due to the lack of a comprehensive guide but if I can get it up and running with the help of the forum, I am sure you will succeed as well as there are a couple of helpful people on this forum who I am sure will help.
    Feel free to ask.
Here is advice from the Man Himself, Marcel, who is reinvigorating rFactor 2 for us :) :

Be good if there was a video walk through for this -from scratch

With problem solving section at the end for when it doesn’t work
