I like this. The big picture is.... As long as I can run it against human opponents and have fun doing so, I really don't care when it's released. We get to use it as much as we'd like and also get an extension for updates on initial release. That to me is a win-win. Remember, ISI plans to update this over time...not just keep cranking out a new game every year. I'm so happy they're using this marketing approach. It just makes sense if you're going for longivity and perfection.
One look around this forum shows how easy it is to misunderstand each other thanks to those finer meanings
I dont beleive this, from whatever Ive experienced here, messages come pretty to the point, although people sometimes try to mud them afterwards LOLOL
If talking face to face relaying message can be viewed as 100%, then these little insects on our screen are something around 7%, so there is 83% chance to misunderstand, more of a miracle how little misunderstandings there is
That is so true, even of forums with 100% English speakers, misunderstandings can arise. We do miss; facial expression, tone of voice and body language. Like you say it is a miracle we understand each other at all.
I think you are forgetting this: Claude Lévi-Strauss (28 November 1908 – 30 October 2009)was a French anthropologist and ethnologist, and has been called, along with James George Frazer, the "father of modern anthropology". He argued that the "savage" mind had the same structures as the "civilized" mind and that human characteristics are the same everywhere. These observations culminated in his famous book Tristes Tropiques, which positioned him as one of the central figures in the structuralist school of thought, where his ideas reached into fields including the humanities, sociology and philosophy. Structuralism has been defined as "the search for the underlying patterns of thought in all forms of human activity."
All I know is that humans and cats wet their pants when scared enough, but cats don't generally wear pants, so I go wiping floor after having two fighting ones separated and scared
Not at all, I firmly believe we have not fundamentally changed in the last several thousand years, language was developed in order to supplement physical communication, not replace it...and my goodness this is a conversation I would rather have face to face over a glass of wine rather than on a computer screen
Lol, although Levi Strauss wasnt addressing kittens, you do have a point (what gets me most is the vommiting after they eat whatever is there, even if it doesnt fit their bellies lol)
