Gmotor plugin many problems in 3d max 2010 sp1 [partially resolved] I have many max crashs when press GMT Converter 2.5. I have 3ds max 2010 32bits sp1 with last fixes. Runs on windows 7 64bits, GPU Amd Radeon hd5850 For example the section jonesville can not click the button GMT Converter. In my circuits only going to convert GMT if not move or change anything in geometry. But the panel Reflections jams as you know. In order to export the GMT's the max I have to close open again and go directly to GMT Converter. someone has the same problem? or or I got something wrong?
I would have said it's probably some setting or object in your scene, but if it happens with Joesville too that's probably not it. Have you tried re-installing 3ds max?
Could be dead uv verts, they cause max to crash a lot. Go into the tools menu then down the bottom you will see 'Channel Info'. open that and select objects, if you see dead verts, then go into vertex submode and click, 'remove unused map verts'.
Maybe post up a max file with a few objects in it that crashes max to see if we can replicate the problem?
Yep im having the GMT Converter 2.52 crash on me as well using Max 2010 SP1 My basic steps to reproduce would be as follows. Load Track in Max, Make changes to track in Max Click on the Hammer and select GMT Converter. Convert something (although not crucial to it crashing) Unselect the GMT Converter. Click on another tool such as box or line etc. Now click back on the hammer and reselect GMT Converter, crashes everytime for me. Will try the unused map verts tonight and see if that makes a difference. Cheers Knightwolf
Have you touched the ref mapper in any way? If so, create a new project, import > merge all the files from the project you are having troubles with and try again. *use eye dropper in mat editor to load the materials up.
Well it is true that the problems appeared after trying to insert the ref .map I'll try and thanks miniak..
It works! is the ref. map. What i do: - Open the "bad" max file - Open Material/Map Browser - In "browse from:" Select Mtl Editor and save as .. ( save all Materials ) Close MAX and open new scene - import and merge the "Bad" max file as ManiaK said. - To put library back to material editor i use Material Library To Material Editor script from project3d.narod.ru. But the button "Put material to Scene" not work any more. I try to use the Script from same site, "Put Material to Scene" but the materials are placed in the wrong objects. Only works if i select object and press "Assign material to selection", but i need to do one by one! Anyone know a better method? Ok but the good thing is GMT Converter no crash.. and the road material have "REFLECTEDENV" in refection Mapper in material option. Conclusion is: the bad "code" is in Reflection Mapper panel not in materials. A suggestion for ISI: The plugin options could be saved in a separate file, instead of writing in the MAX file. This would be great for a greater control over the plugin. It is an idea and suggestion is not a criticism.
All you have to do is use the eye dropper on the mat editor, if you import > merge the scene, the material is still there, just not in the mat editor.
hi all, same for me, as soon as i click ok in the msgbox for the name of the new environnement map max crashes. even with joesville portion, lienz conversion and UKrally conversion or an empty scene(but maybe it is normal) even in max9 and max2010 is there un "truc et astuce"? of course i have tried cleaning dead vertices and merge into new scene without more success
You Right , is better import from scene. I don't know Eyedroper, what i do is doubleclick in Multi/mat from Mat Broser and the mat go to Selected Slot.
