This is strange cause 22.5.1 is normally the full functional driver. So if the track is also crashing with this driver it could be a different problem. On all other tracks the new driver (22.11.2) is working without problems atleast for me and a friend of mine.
finally!!!!! I can now play Laguna Seca at Full Graphic setting without the game crashing to Desktop. Ddidnt update my AMD Radeon drivers so obviously the fix came from S397 themselves so thanks!
Well, fingers crossed. I've seen fewer reports, but the last one (that I just found) was the day after the last game patch, so that doesn't bode well... *ok, Laguna did just get an update. Maybe that means they fixed something, maybe it's random and now it happens to not be affected...
I dont think its a coincidence S397 might have worked with AMD because clearly only way for me to get the track to load fully was to reduce track details to medium And it was not a limitation of my rig as i run a 6800xt now I didnt touch the drivers nor the settings in radeon software so clearly the tack update did it so now i am happy
for me this issue is back, on the latest driver with a 6900xt, single & multiplayer it crashes upon track loading completion
As you have found, 22.5.1 still works correctly. SOME users have gotten some tracks to load with newer drivers....but the ONLY RELIABLE DRIVER AT THIS TIME IS 22.5.1.
I just did a quick test with the new AMD Adrenaline 23.2.1 driver: no CTD. Could load and drive on WWT Raceway, Bahrain, Spa, non official Road America without issues. For Bahrain, tried ultra and lower track detail, both no issues Try the new driver and dont forget to clear caches in rfactor 2 and adrenaline software.
If you have Laguna Seca, could you test that?, Laguna was one of the first reported tracks with issues.
Test ran Nürnburgring with the new AMD Adrenaline 23.2.1 driver with high quality settings. 100% chance of crashing. The screen is stopped but the AI is running. GPU 6700XT Windows 11
v22.5.1 What is unbelievable is folks keep thinking AMD gives a damn about the 100 or so of us rF2/AMD users. They made a change to the core of their drivers after v22.5.1 and to them it is just like S397 changing the UI or going to DX11. For AMD, apparently there is no going back. They have put out more drivers in the last months than any time in their history and none seem to completely resolve the issues facing rF2. S397 developed a graphic system that applied to both NV & AMD and worked perfectly until the drivers at AMD began including new features. Does S397 re-write their entire code to match AMD? What if AMD adds another feature after that? To this date there is only one answer. v22.5.1
I would be interested to know the results of your swap. I would think, since they share the same core architecture, you will see the same issues with the 5700. Using any of the new drivers after v22.5.1 let us know if the crashing or lockups does or does not affect the older model. Since the 6700 and beyond models were all working perfectly prior to advancing past v22.5.1, I doubt downgrading to one generation older model will cure what clearly are video driver related issues.
By me, everything is ok with 5700XT and Adrenalin 23.2.1. I tasted Laguna, Nuerburging and Silverstone Single Play with different cars.
