    Hello.

    I just downloaded the file and watch it "diagonally":

    I have to read better but I do not think there will be information.

    I continue to search in parallel. I am very busy with my son who is not at the nursery (vacancy), I'm running out of time.

    But thank you all.

    I'll keep you informed.

    The download Navigator has provided is more focused on creating a modified version of an existing car by uninstalling the original.

    What OP is asking for is how to rename the internal name used to show cars in the car selection screen so that new modified does not interfere with the original one.

    I would suggest to read car technology pdf from official modding downloads.
    The structure that I was talking about in my first post is shown in the image extracted from it.

    However, I think that in the image it is not very clear the relation between veh with (xxx.gen, xxx.cam, xxx.sfx, xxx_cockpitinfo.ini, xxx_upgrades.ini...) files. From my understanding olny the xxx.hdv file is referred from the veh file. I would understand that it is mandatory that those secondary files. I guess that any car modder could provide a more thorough explanation.

    True; if you change something, you have to repack and thats what my pdf is for.
    If you have the files apart; I told him to change/look at the .veh file. From there, it explains itself.

    The picture explains nicely and that is how I know it:
    - veh: points towards all files being used for this mod; the .gen, spinner.gen, sound.sfx, primary skin, updates.ini, car.hdv and it also tells how the car/mod is named.
    Here an example from my own mod, notice the names in the last line; they are in the startscreen when choosing a car:

    DefaultLivery="RedBull_S2.dds"

    HDVehicle=RedBull.hdv
    Graphics=F1_2018.gen
    Spinner=F1_2018_Spinner.gen
    Upgrades="RedBull_Upgrades.ini" // Vehicle upgrades information
    GenString=RB0A // Used to generate GMT names in *.gen file
    Cameras=RedBull_Cams.cam // Defaults to cams.cfg in UserData directory
    Sounds=F1_2018.sfx
    HeadPhysics=F1_2018_headphysics.ini // Affects driver eyepoint only
    Cockpit=RedBull_CockpitInfo.ini
    //////////////////////////TEAM HISTORY AND INFORMATION//////////////////////////
    Number=33
    Team="Red Bull Racing"
    PitGroup="Group0A"
    Driver="Max Verstappen"
    Description="RedBull - Max Verstappen #33"
    Engine="Renault TAG HEUER"
    Manufacturer="Red Bull Racing-TAG Heuer"

    FullTeamName="Red Bull"
    Base="Factory"
    TeamPrincipal="Christian Horner"
    TechnicalChief="Adrian Newey"
    FirstSeason="1997"
    Races="na"
    DriversTitles="0"
    TeamTitles="4"
    HighestRaceFinish="0"
    FastestLaps="0"

    Classes="F1_2018"
    Category="Formula1_2018"

    So it points from there on to a hdv file and that one directs towards:
    - tyres (.tbc and that one points towards the .tgm)
    - gearbox
    - engine
    - damage
    - chassis

    Well, I did tell you (name is in veh), but you probable thought I had no understanding of the matter and took my advise as a guess.

    Thank you @SPASKIS and @Navigator .

    I have trouble doing it because I have modified Classes = and
    Category = by myself even before your last messages:

    the names are not found in the "UI car tree".

    On the other hand, seeing what @Navigator wrote, the problem may be that I did not use GUILLEMETS ("").

    I will try again, you have been a great help to me.

    When I succeed, I will explain what did not work so that others did not make my mistakes.
