We will be switching our commerce/world server to a new data center on Thursday. This will result in service outages of 2-24 hours depending on geographic location of the client (you). We will be putting a notification in the message box that is in the launcher.

The reason for the move is to distribute our server applications over multiple servers, which will reduce downtime and allow us to scale out our resources as user demand increases. Eventually, we will add additional data centers, bringing the app servers closer to users outside of the US.

The matchmaker will be left running on the old server to minimize disruption, which should be minimal, and probably will not be noticed.

rFactor1 purchasing will also be affected, rF1 matchmaker will not.

Should we cancel our league race which is scheduled Thursday 7/18, from 16:30 to 18:30 GMT?

Uhm does this also affect the use of single player? I just fired up rF2 and everything is greyed out, although it is roughly 6 hours early of 09:00 EDT

    edit:

sorry, nevermind. it seems i needed to reactivate rF2, for whatever reason. it works again

Whether this affects matchmaker depends on your geographic location, and your ISP getting the new server location(s)... It *shouldn't* be felt by most, but it can do. It's unfortunately not something we can control once we're done with it, then it's just waiting for the world to catch up.

I recently built a new system and just finished installing rF2 on it. When I launch the game even single player is greyed out. I assume this is because I will have to reactivate it due to new system? Problem is I am not seeing an option for activation, only purchase and that's off line.

    Any other way to activate?

Come to think of it, if this is a "try before you buy" beta shouldn't it work in single player without being activated or am I missing something?

Don't you think that's the reason demo was released?

Activation button is just below purchase button. Impossible to miss. Literally impossible.

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't see it. If you still encounter this problem, write a private message to someone from the staff or write an email.

I'm told that the work was done, and there are some DNS locs still not updated worldwide, just a question of time.

    Did you install the demo?

It must be entirely possible to miss as you can see from this screenie. As you can see there is no activate button below the purchase tab, and all of the modes are greyed out.

It's crazy isn't it, it's like there's been some sort of server outage/maintenance/migration problem. ISI should've really warned about this, I dunno maybe a sticky post in the forum or some sort of message in the launcher. I wonder if other people are having this problem too.

    HEY WAIT A MINUTE........

We made our DNS change, then we had to wait a lot longer than we expected for those doing it to do it for us, then it had to travel around the world. As far as the issues people are saying about deleting the credentials, etc, I haven't seen any email traffic about that at all, so I just sent one (which will not be read until the A.M. by most of those getting it).

I've seen that when the game launches, the rFactor.credentials are getting deleted. That can not be wanted. Is there any fix coming soon?
