Still getting this, still no idea what I'm doing wrong as the instructions are pretty straight forward...
Thanks guys, figured it should work, just couldn't test it myself immediately Yep, I'm quite deliberately attempting to trip up people who don't really read installers! Just take the 2 mins to read and understand what you're answering - only need to do it once. I just want to ensure people have an understanding of what they're using. Thanks for giving the subtle hint, I like how everyone 'gets' what it's about
Lol OK got it now. Actually read the messages like an abnormal person instead of clicking yes/next every time. Thanks.
I'm sorry to bother you, but I got a problem installing the plugin: Installed with the automatic handler, and DAMPlugin_x64.dll, DAMPlugin.dll are in the right places. However, PluginData cannot be found (did a 'search' in explorer rFactor 2 directory), I drove a lap in rfactor 2 without having heard a sound, and I cannot find any DAMPlugin.ini file in the Userdata\player folder. I found 'data.path' in the rFactor 2\Core folder, pointing to '.\' My OS is Windows 10 and got rFactor 2 Steam version (changed to steam with a steam-key for lifetime version). Can anyone help me please? Had no problem with Motec-plugin in non-steam version and I'm missing it!
Grab the manual install option (check the first post), and put the PluginData folder wherever your data folder actually is. I'm sorry, I don't have a steam version, so not sure how it works. On the last page there seemed to be an issue with steam while another person's steam worked fine.
v0.74 works with b1036, but v0.73 didn't. For me anyway, but don't know why it would be different for me.
You make a good point... yes, versions prior to v0.74 were 'locked' to a single build. v0.74 (and higher) will work with all builds, compatibility issues notwithstanding.
I have some strange problems with the GPS signal. I get a correct track but when i use it for a rainbow map or sth like that the trackpositions doesn't seem to match. Just have a look here. Does anybody knwo why this happens? Maybe wrong setting in Motec on my side? When i use distance an lateral G to generate the track than it works
Yeah, I've got a feeling I need to rescale the GPS after I moved it 45° away from (0,0) (to avoid 'invalid data' issues). Have to look into that further. Like you I found that changing the track generation to use G forces rather than GPS works much better.
Yes that's maybe the issue. I experimented a little bit yesterday and found out that the calculated track lenght trough GPS data is far away from the right one (about 1000 meters). So when i set an offset of -45° on the GPS Latitude the track lenght was calculated the right way and the trackmap was generated right. Btw i never had issues with invalid GPS data if i just deactivated the GPS data correction (Or speed correction. I don't know if i remember correctly) I also found out that the "lap distance" channel has no unit when i experimented with the correction function of lap distance in motec itself. I hope this helps.
Hi I'd like to report that for me the auto installer didn't work with Steam version. It copied all the files somewhere but definitely not into the pointed Steam rF2 folder ;-) Manual copying however did the trick
