I do not understand, I am the tutorial to the letter and it does not work.
I do not have any problems to create the components.
When I created the mod all goes well, but when I want to install in RF2 he told me that my components are not installed what is normal they are in my rfmod ...

Could you help me and tell me how to create a full mod without using existing components?

(My mod contains, vehicles, sounds, track all of my creation)
    thank you

did you put the .rfcmp files in the packages folder?

did you use mod MGR to then 'install' them ?

your 'F1 Ligue Mod.rfcmp' file needs to go in the DATA Folder that you picked when installing rfactor2

    mine is: C:\Users\MS7XWDC\Documents\rFactor2\Packages

    then, you start rfactor2
    'Manage Mods'

One question : If you want a mod created entirely with components in the rfmod (sounds, car, etc ...) how it's done because everything is installed separately.

Yes I know, all that I understood what I was asking is:
    rfcmd in rfmod
and not the rfcmd + rfmod

I have tried to package up a mod again and again following the tutorial to the letter and it never works for me, it either shows up in the mod manager as a problem mod or if it shows up normally and i right click and install it, it then just disappears from the mod manager altogether, about ready to give up.

It says problem mod because you FIRST need to have the .rfmc or whatever files installed before you can install the .rfmod file if you follow the tutorial. I dont like this new packaging system myself its seems it made it a chore to get a mod and get it in game...the old way was much better and cost you less disk space. Of course it would help if they gave a complete tutorial or if someone would actually share how they built a proper .rfmod or made a proper vmod with step by step instructions so others could learn how to do it right.

I just dont like having to have the .rfmod file installed which contains all the content while also having the loose files that the .rfmod installs. I mean that is 2 installs of one mod in rf1 you can easily hit 20 gigs with mods and tracks...in rf2 that means 40 gigs BLAH.

If it is like that then it is a mess TBH, needing the individual components and the rfmod files to install a mod, i thought the whole point of the rfmod was that it contained all the files and components.

I agree...copy your components over to your main packages folder install those then you will see that the .rfmod no longer shows as problem mod. You can then right click and install it, which having to do that causes you to technically have THREE installs of the same content (the component packages, the .rfmod file, and the actual install.)

P.S. I do hope to see you're guys mod in rf2 at some point, cant wait for that one :)

if the components are included in the rfmod file then you don't need to have the components pre-installed. You only need pre-installed components for a virtual mod. Please note that the system still has some bugs to squash, and will be expanded after that.

I think the next time I make a fresh mod I'll do a vid tutorial and have Tim post it. Probably early to mid next week--hopefully that will help a bit...

Scott this would help out ALOT....right now if i follow the PDF i just get a 85mb rfmod file that i should be able to install but cannot unless i include the rfcmp files and install them first. Seeing the whole process via a video would help greatly to understand how to package and give to say a friend who does not have the components but would like to install the mod itself.

I am hopeing it is possible to just give them the rfmod file and they can then install it as opposed to needing to install the rfcmp then the rfmod file. If thats not possible can we also get a vid for creating just a vmod and how to do it correctly?
