Wow! What track is that?? Love the layout! I really wanna drive that track. Now i really cant wait for my new pedals to get here.

Is it an Aussie or Kiwi (New Zealand) track? Reminds me of something V8 Supercars would race in one of those countries...

Like this track very much. Propably the most underrated track in rF2. Leagues not using it nor have I seen servers with it.

Is that a stock un-edited HDR profile, stock cams, stock everything? It looks amazing.

I haven't played the video on my big screen, just my small tablet (which makes things look way better than my PC monitor) but HOLY CRAP!!!!

It has a different look to most modern games, it doesn't have that fancy, dramatic, artful, processed, look, nor does it have that televised look, but instead it just has this ultra raw and insanely real-life look to it. The atmosphere and the immersion is immense. Again, the rawness and general "feel" of the visuals completely immerses you into feeling like you're actually physically there at the track. It just completely sucks you in. I can't imaging what this with 3D Vision and triple screens would be like.

Its amazing to see RF2 look like this. It just shows that the potential is there if you are a graphics guru. ISI really should hire you Tosch to do your magic on updating their older tracks and the HDR profile. Its such a shame that it doesnt look this good all the time when it is actually a possibility.

low angle sun brings up normal maps, that is normal in every game, thats why World of Tanks uses only low angle sun time of the day. it simply looks better when you have so many shadows and the normal maps brought up like that, but when sun is fully up, rf2 still looks like it shoud, only simply it doesnt look that exciting, thats is why no game that is "graphics focused" will give you time of day where the sun is fully up, aka 12:00pm

The thing Tosch is showing there, is the fact that Time of Day has a huge impact on the overall feel of 'atmosphere'. The fog, the early morning, the cold air, the wet grass in the first video almost has a romantic '24h feeling' to it, where as the second 1.00pm vid just misses the whole feeling.

I think that we do miss a lot of ambient occlusion in the game engine (very GPU intensive I believe) and we really miss soft reflections. For instance, the tarmac looks like tarmac when the sun is shining on it at an angle, whereas the tarmac looks like a piece of carpet because it misses the color of the sky(light). We eventually need 2 lightsources: indirect skylight (bouncing all over the place and casting soft shadows) and a direct sunlight casting hard shadows. There is so much to achieve :)
