Very nice skin! Maybe you can try a to improve the black parts. Looks a bit flat and shapeless. Try something around rgb 30.30.30.

Thanks Tosch, the colour used there is 23,21,21 with a very dark alpha channel. I wanted a matt look and had it a lighter grey before but Ronnie says it looks like toothpaste lol. So darkened it down a lot. Really don't want the black to shine, wanted a contrast between the black and the blue/purple. I've changed it to 30,30,30 and it looks a bit better. Any other advice? Cheers.

 

Matt will never look good, atleast make it semi-gloss, and it would look like "a toothpaste" because the rest of the colors are very saturated, if you will desaturate them little bit, you will get away with making the black a bit brighter, therefore you will leave more room for the gMotor to do the shading on that color

A matt black car is not black. It looks grey.

 

True. That skin would look awesome with proper black matt ("grey") colour!

 

Maybe carbon does the job.

 

I posted these pics some time ago in the URD thread. It's a 4096x4096 skin with a modified spec map (added some noise to the blue parts) to make it look like blue metallic. The matt black is rgb 30.30.30.





btw the two suns on the windscreen is something that ISI should fix. Looks like the specular and fresnel reflection are not aligned.

 

Trust me. It looked like thick poxipol glue paste or toothpaste spreaded on the car.

It looked nothing like this Lambo.

We made some changes to alpha channel and it looks much better now. I could post a pic how it looks now. Give me a moment.

 

The Nurburgring GP made me do it (Is this classed as editing? I know it is edited but I didn't edit the images, just comparing two stock ones? I couldn't decide...)

 

With tips from Tosch this is what we came up with. Looks better in my opinion. ^^
