A good way to check mapping. Shame the result is far better for free content than it is for stuff we payed for. Should be the other way around wouldn't you think?

 

Yeah, every paid pack was released in a rush (maybe except the 2 strong). There was always a competition or important real life race they wanted to release it together. The Tatuus didnt have anything special so I guess they could take their time.
Now if only they'd go back and rework the paid packs

I haven't looked at the mapping at all. Based on that, everything appears ok and makes sense. A little bit of stretching on the side pod inlet (The OD square). The part about mapping that I find the most nerve wracking is when parts are mapped asymetrically on the texture.

My work flow is that I paint one complete side of the car. Once complete, I duplicate that, flip it, and put it on the opposite side. When a door section is in one corner of the texture and the other door is some where else, it is a lot of adjusting or having to redo a whole side. That is when it becomes a pain.

 

this happens with the aston gte is not symmetrical, the bmw m6 gt3 has stretched mesh corners,the letter g, deforms and stretches

the Aston martin GTE on one side the lines coincide, on the other side they do not coincide, ahead on one side they are correct, on the other they are below the line

 

being a paid content, I hope they fix it soon

 

Totally agree with the method. I do exactly the same with the base colors. Then do fine adjusting on the opposite side. The closer the two sides are to a mirror image the better.

I was making the point that the mapping on the Tatuus is pretty good compare to the GT cars.
It's true the GT cars where rushed for comps but there's been plenty off time and updates off all off them to have fix up a lot off the issues they carry currently.
I just think it's funny when in that interview with RD so much was inference was made about "high quality" work unyet there is so many that have pointed out the faults with the paid mods but nothings been done to fix them.
I've always found it takes just as long to do a good job as it dose to do a bad one. The difference is nobody says anything when you get it right, but are quick to pick it out when you get it wrong.
