He's working on a global fix, so at the moment the manual fixing is on hold unless he has someone else doing it. Thanks again - again - for your patience on this.

 

It works now. At least for me. Have the same message on the bottom and nothing greyed out.

Edit: List in matchmaker is also available.

Edit: 2 minutes later. Matchmaker says no games available.

 

OK, games are listed again lobby now. I missed the message about the server work on the launcher.

Personally I don`t mind waiting at all... I just keep checking every now and then to see if it`s up and running again. I won`t have any chance to do any actual racing/driving today anyway.

AFAIK some kind of database saving issue.

In the admin section you have an 'account' based on your email, then you have purchases attached to it. So you can purchase standard, lifetime, gift coupons and the online access for the standard when it's needed. These purchases became unattached from the accounts, so some could login, but then it didn't look like you had a product purchased. Those who couldn't login, it was another issue that has been ongoing and he's working on. What he was having to do is view by purchase, and attach to the right user, which is why I couldn't help him as the actual admin panel views by account, not purchase. If that makes sense. The data was there, just not where it was being looked for.

I think like my little "lesson" earlier this week, there's something to be gained from any mistake.

Is it related to the ISI end or the local machine? I ask because I hadnt logged in for days but my single player 'deactivated', so it looks like a local RF2 self-destruct.

 

It's on our end, but I haven't yet been told how it alters what is on your machine...

 

So is RF2 phoning home every time it starts for a license check?

 

No. The forum had it's style altered earlier this week. Then, unrelated, we had a database problem causing licenses to become unconnected to users.

We also store limited information. Credit cards, for example, are only given by you to Paypal or Moneybookers. We never see them.

 

Appreciate the explanation Tim and yeh, there`s always something to be learned from these things...

 

TBH I don't know. But it would make sense for it to occasionally, eventually so that people can't endlessly race offline after requesting a refund.
