There was a thread about this recently with some changes that can be made in player json. Not ideal but it seems to help with the issue… https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/btcc-racing-with-ai.73551/#post-1119816
BTCC AI also sometimes trips on kerbs on the Nords. The higher the AI percentage is, the higher the chances.
I did a forum search before making this thread but being old I must have missed that one. Hopefully seeing its a known issue it will be fixed soon. I don't like having to change .ini files for official paid content.
https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/btcc-racing-with-ai.73551/#post-1118790 Theres the thread. I did some changes to the json file and it definitly worked for that specific track. But as another user commented those changes can have averse effects for other tracks so I reset and havent really looked into it any further. So yes definitly not ideal that we get paid content in this state…
rolling AI is an old global issue. BTCC is probably just easier to make them roll. Even as a player you have to watch some corners so the BTCC cars don't roll (Portland T1) Here some rolling GT3 cars from 4(!) years ago https://forum.studio-397.com/index....dited-screens-only.40609/page-289#post-983104
I think that's out of the question. Even in real life drivers have to watch out for track dangers, and that means curbs too. Cars aren't glued to the track. It doesn't happen more often because of the drivers skills, but in simracing we sometimes want to gain some time where we shouldn't, going too fast over dangerous curbs.
if i remember correct a paid mod TCR2018 by a modder had the same problem where AI roll over when hitting curb
Maybe that's part of the "known issue", I haven't checked but ideally at 100% strength they should have similar lap times to their real life counterparts.
Any update on a potential fix for the AI roll over issue? I just purchased a few BTCC cars & all the associated tracks. Great fun but half the field ending up on their lids in a 10 lap race completely takes the fun out of this purchase.
If I remember correctly I think that the Ai was at about the correct pace at 100% unfortunately the player controlled car is too fast in comparison. I shouldn't be able to out pace the real lap times. Either way not as fun as an experience I would of hoped for.
I purchased a pack of BTCC cars as they looked very fun to race. I tried them at Silverstone and immediately noticed cars rolling over. This is quite a huge immersion killing issue and it is, of course, ignored by the developers it seems (I mean "known" - helps us a lot). The fact that the issue is present on DLC tracks as well is... troubling. Learned my lesson about buying content for rFactor 2 (again)...
