Awesome, they are just up the road from here. Let us know how you get on! @datanode http://www.baseperformance.net/ based out at Banbury, Oxfordshire (about 1 1/2 hrs from Essex).
Cp30 I hope you enjoy your session If you could post back your impressions, also a few questions (if you remember!) Is the ffb system using a servo as oppose to standard motor? Is there motion ? If so which (I.e dbox / actuator etc ) (-;
Had an absolute ball today at BPS -- full write up on Racing.GT by Monday. in the meantime, here I am in the seat of the Vantage (picture credit to Gary Parravani) View attachment 9459
Brill ! Look forward to reading it ! If poss please include specifics of the hardware they were using (-; Glad you enjoyed it
Teaser onboard video: All the gear is bespoke GT gear from the Vantage - the wheel is a very high end manufactured wheel (not at liberty to say) but suffice to say outside our budgets
How much does it cost and for the single seater? Also, how long do you get to use it for at those prices?
BPS run a 2 hour introductory session for new clients for £300 ; the normal cost for two hours is £450. A 4 hour training session comes in at £750, or you can opt for an evening session for £600 which is 3 hours. There are discounts for teams or drivers that book 6/12 sessions in the calendar.

Do you have a hi-res of the image at the top of the article? Can I use it when linking from our site?
"lack of motion feedback in the seat, or even to feedback in the seat itself" so no motion and no bass transducer at all...pretty bad!!! although it looks superv with the car and inside looks and also the super round screen with 3 projectors (no big deal...really easy to build (i myself have done it in my home, but much more little, but i mean there is no complexity in building a circular wall with aluminium, DM wood, etc and warping 3 beamers with nthusim, immersive display, etc). to my mind, a 4 actuators dbox system would have been enough to replicate kerbs and road bumps at least... even seat motion with a pair of simple scn5 actuators or even both combo (dbox+scn5) would have been enough to push the simulation to another level within few thousand of bucks (800 dollars for 2 scn5 for the seat and arround 3000-5000 dollars for dbox system depending on the dealer)
Remember, this is a sim running 14 hours a day quite often ... it takes quite a chunky and reliable bit of kit to sustain that level of abuse. Every time it is down it's losing money. No idea about what the D-Box is like but from the relatively modest cost is it fully suitable for prolonged use? Maybe it is , I just don't know.
Thanks. If you want to email it: timw@imagespaceinc.com, and of course it'll be driving some folks to your site.
