The Auto Updater does not crash anymore, although it doesnt start downloading anything after i hit the Download Button. Same for Automatic Mode.
any one can update using the launcher? in my launcher appear that but it not start to download any data. any solution? thanks
I don't see why we need to DL the Lite installer to fix a issue with the Uploader. ? I'll wait till the issue is Fixed. Ive just bought the full Membership at Build 198
Took about 2 minutes to run the Lite installer on top of the existing install (less time than it took me to read this thread). No issues, all mods retained and rFactor2 updated cleanly. Not such a big deal.
Same here. Tried auto and manual in launcher. Id prefer to wait for a proper fix rather than downloading lite.
Don't see why we need or should DL the lite installer, Update should be fixed really. But to get going i'll DL the lite install.
Same problem here. Downloaded and installed the 218 lite installer but it did not give the choice of separating the core and data files which was how I had it set up. I copied the new "Launch rFactor.exe" (version 0.660) over the top of the old one (version 0.654) in my original program directory and then the auto update worked as it used to. Tried to upload version 0.660 here but it failed. Maybe ISI should fix this or make the new version of the launcher available as a download?
What is the purpose of the in-game update if it doesn't work? I don't especially care to download the full version if I'm going to have to bother with activation. What has everyone else been doing to update to 218? Alan
you wont have to re-active. I uninstalled rf2, reinstalled the fulle 218 version (the lite over 198 still crashed), but it did not fix the AIW editor crashes.
I am not about to uninstall and then reinstall and then have to go through all the hassle of installing the mods. Updating all these mods with all their versions and needing this version for this to work and that version for that to work-- it's a complete and utter mess. How 'bout something simpler: fix the auto-updater. Alan
Hay Tim, this is a bit poor that your auto updater can't seem to handle things, it's not looking after your customer's well, if basic things like updating doesn't work. I thought the hole idea was that this was going to be simple, with out the hassles of mismatches and manual installs. or at least say your servers are having trouble and we'll fix it asap. Don't leave us hanging.
I just followed Tim's instructions earlier in the thread and downloaded and installed the Lite version. It worked like a charm. None of my mods, tracks or cars were adversely affected. The lite installer took care of everything and I now have Version 218.
Yes I have done the same and it work, that's not the point, they are selling this as a full product (not a beta anymore) basic things like the updater should just work, or at lease a decent explanation (not just I would do it this way, that will work).
