Auto update to 218 CTD

We don't have to uninstall/re-install mods/tracks etc. for that? Just install 218 Lite on top of our 156 builds, and that's it?

-edit: woops. When I said build 156 in both my posts, I actually meant build 198.

 

I used the Lite, same problem, rf launcher says "current build: 198", when clicking query it says "current build is up to date", even though the 218 exe file is in the correct folder(update). In the "198" Folder the 218 data folder is empty, in the 156 folder it's not.

Anyone?

 

Ok, sounds like I won't be touching that, lol. I'll wait for a proper fix.

 

Thats because build 218 exe is a standalone installer, not an update, so don't but it in your update folder.

Just launch it from your desktop like any other installer.

Alright, you guys convinced me; trying the Lite installer.

 

Why are you clicking query? Lite is an INSTALLER, not an UPDATE. Just install it.

Me & my buds are a wee bit frustrated@ non auto update also. We're not that computer literate to try the download route so will await a resolution from ISI. Have fun with 218 all you brave souls ;-)

 

Oops, missed your .exe post, Tim. Got it sorted easily once we had the correct info. Now to run some laps

hola buenas. soy usuario de rfactor2 hayer instale la actualizcion 218 mediante las descargas de la pajina oficial la update autamatica no me iva .una vez actualizado todo me va bien lounico q menaje mods no me funciona me dice intentando una operacion no compatible. lo e desintalodo y e instalado varias veces y m sigue dando el erroe q puedo acer o que ago mal.muchas gracias.un saludo

 

Hi,
i used the lite installer + installed over the old version.
Game works fine, but i cant access the mod manager! ("attempted an usupported operation"-error)
Tried deleting the key in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\...\rFactor2 Mod Manager) but key is empty, so system wont let me delete. :/

What now?

What are you trying to delete, the string value in the right hand pane or the key in the left hand pane?

You can also open the 'Settings' sub-key and change the 'ViewDetails' REG_DWORD from 0 to 1.

lite installer over old version works fine for me.(no need to delete or uninstall or backup anything)
