So after a little more playtime with VR in v0.2 it's become apparent that the UE4 demands more of my PC than say RF2 or AC currently do (which is kinda to be expected I think), I've got fairly low settings all round and have not got into 90fps yet even when alone on track but there maybe more tweaking to be had. FFB does feel improved over what v0.1 was like, it's still not on RF2 levels but I have much more feeling and it's closer to what I had in AC...if anything on Par now but I need to do more running. Rain/Weather effects are better performing than RF2 on my system though which was a nice bonus, again alone on track not had a proper go at the AI yet.
Last time i played in rain was amazing and performed well in my system (4790k,980ti, triple screen - wich i cannot adjust well). Hope in new version they had improved cockpit view in flat screens and triple screen support
So people who complain about the performance maybe talk about 8K EPIC settings? I saw some VR people complaining but they were using those latest 200 FOV 8K VR sets, LOL! Those things will never have juice enough on modern titles with heavy graphics.
It was when i tried but side screens doesnt seem "angled" in one of the cockpit views and no seat pitch adjustments (i did a video with my phone filming the monitors - will see if i find) Video is here but i dont know about my privacy settings if it is allowing to see
afaik there is no proper triple screen support so you are just running a wide res which performs great in most games
I think someone said its better performance that way instead of multiview and angle the monitors straight to compensate for the stretch?
Funny, same settings but only shows my rf2 video. Is it some license issue with AC? ps: do not ask how i save this rf2 wide video. I have no clue how i did that
Yes, i think you and will Mazeo nailed why i get good performance ps: but this is an rf2 video. I posted to test if my youtube settings was ok to everyone see it but it only worked with the rf2 replay file. edit: strange... not available. I can see in my profile page but if i try to navigate through the channel like a regular user, it doesnt show
correct, UE4 do not have native triple support but do support some kind of multi-port-render-display in borderles windowed mode... not sure if that's an good or bad thing for the future triple support https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/30918/does-ue4-support-multiple-monitors.html I feel like the VR guys you get all annoyed about, but "no triples - no buy"...
I hadn't looked (I'm a VR guy ) but the roadmap doesn't mention triple screens https://www.assettocorsa.net/competizione/roadmap/
no, they currently looking into it as I have understand, so it's either confirmed or denied. we have so many great sim's to spend our time on so I will not mind waiting, if it is confirmed.
What i can tell: We can go fov lower than 30 It has seat pitch now *hope they master this new engine to get something like Ac1 way of accessing these kind of tool. But didnt see how to set side angles Cannot say much about fps. It didnt stutter and i capped fps in some control panel. It seems less water when raining now. I prefer before. Ffb, same about fps. Cant say much. Kind tired. I dont know i bought this. I dont like these cars but ac1 ffb seems stronger as i remember (didnt mess with this part). We cannot change setups yet, not that i care much
"Cannot say much about fps. It didnt stutter and i capped fps in some control panel." Can you say what cap in the nvidia control panel did you use? I have stutters now and then despite really high FPS. Also have them when trying to lock the framerate using several methods. Have you measured your stutters/frame pacing? Use Fraps and Frafs (it plots graphs from Fraps benchmark frametimes). You need to start the game first and then start Fraps. The benchmarking hotkey is in Fraps' tab "FPS". Use something else other than F11 because ACC uses this key to get out of fullscreen mode. Thanks.
I was very sleepy and now im away from pc but i did a screenshot of my graphics settings. If im not mistaken, there is a framerate limit in this menu (but im not sure if this is really what you people "cap fps"). I read in somewhere, probably in this thread before, which will cause biggest impact is something that i understand like "pixel density" (is in the graphic menu). Mine was set in 100. I think it is like a medium setting. No, i didnt measure fps. I think geforce experience has this feature assign to a key but, like i said, i was very sleepy and didnt want to take on this at the time. I must play later tonight and check fps. I will post my graphic settings in a minute. I did the screenshot using geforce software. Hope i didnt screw something. This "review" was bigger but with too many typos so deleted parts instead of correcting. Will get the screenshot now
I have more than 100FPS. But it is not smooth. The importance of measuring your framerate with Fraps/OCAT/etc is that you can have 120FPS on average but 0.1% of that framerate could be much lower. Example of a 60FPS game not running smoothly: 60FPS in a smooth game should be a straight line at 16.6ms. For a racing game like RF2/ACC you want a perfect locked line. Thats why I'm asking you to measure when you have the opportunity later. Thanks.
Here. With these settings, i got no sttuters (4790k, 980ti, 16gb ram). I didn´t touch nvidia control panel for now. Where you see 200 in frame limit, i put 60 or 61. That is what i called "capped framerate" but im not sure its the same thing. Sry if i gave you false a hope
I will. Thanks for the tip *Found the free version to download. ** My maximum fps in game was 42 when alone with heavy rain, Lambourghini. In traffic droped some but not too much (how you can get this graph?) Saved a vídeo file but it was 2,4 gb. Im uploading but it will take long (when recording dropped to 26 max and didnt run smooth as before and it seems it didnt recorded the log when saving the vídeo. Cannot upload csv files in here and im with no time to do anything more now. Video later. Here it what fps file has inside: FPS 49 48 44 46 47 49 53 59 61 58 58 45 44 44 43 44 43 43 43 43 43 42 44 44 44 44 44 45 44 44 44 44 45 44 44 44 45 44 44 44 44 44 44 43 42 44 44 44 44 45 44 44 44 45 44 44 44 44 45 42 43 43 43 44 39 37 38 41 42 41 41 40 40 41 41 41 42 41 40 40 40 40 40 40 39 40 40 40 39 40 40 40 39 40 40 40 39 42 42 41 41 40 41 41 44 46 46 45 47 47 46 47 47 47 51 56 57 54 54 55
To get the graph you have to download Frafs (it reads those .csv files generated by Fraps). Just run Frafs and it will open the folder with your benchmark results. Drag and drop the "Gamingtitle - 2018 - frametimes.csv". Edit: don't forget to check the "frametimes" box on Fraps in the FPS options tab.
