Drove this thing around Lime Rock no chicanes last night, and just like the last time I drove it, after 20-30 laps I was ready for a nap. Just getting too old for all this adrenalin. (but it was fantastic!) I'll probably forget and do it again. There are a lot of cars that I love, but none juice me up like this mod. -absolutely none.
To me these are simple the best looking F1 cars (besides maybe the Historics we already have). They were modern enough, but not over-gadgeted, huge tires, V12 screamers, and paddle or stick shift in the same season to pick from. Some really notable drivers in those days around, and some fantastic classic tracks. I know everyone loves a different era of F1 but to me this is the one that really nails it.
I love this car, but the steering gives me a 'workout'. It just about ripped my arms out the other night...really heavy. The car is an absolute blast to drive at SPA.
That's part of what makes it amazing . Heavy, but not clipped to hell where all feelings and effects are drowned-out/muted-out.
The link in the first post works fine here but there is another link you can try: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5fTj7WYeR9HZnFLa3hCMVpMams/view?usp=sharing
Is it just my wheel that rattles insane? Just fired rf2 up and updated it and tried nsx and this. nsx feels like a volvo going to sleep compared to this Love it, but it rattles so much in my g25 =(
Pretty cool mod. I'm not a huge fan of open wheelers mods but i enjoy driving it quite a lot so far. The only complaints(wait what who said i'm nitpicking ;P ) i could formulate so far is the default FFB being a bit heavy but we can modify that so no biggies here, and the idling sound but you rarely stay idle long with this car hehe and once rolling the sound is quite immersive. Thanks a lot. Good immersion, good sounds and good looking, good feeling, it actually feels a tad wilder than the FISI and Marussia who are a bit more stable, and a little bit faster aswell(or it's just i need to work out more my FISI and Marussia driving maybe i don't know). A good complement with ISI and MAK OWs that is welcome in my installation. And now i got open wheelers racing everywhere in my head, soon to fire up rFactor 2 i guess.
I just tried 643 at Indy. Best car so far for me in RFactor2, honestly. FFB is spot on, G25, meaty but not tiring and I love the vibration that doesnt let you focus to instruments, exactly as it should be. And the cockpit, eh I could easily hibernate in there. If all RFactor2 cars had such cockpits, Im sure all complains about the sim would be out of context.
The option to disable the head tilting is a must. I just can't get used to it. I am the one who should be moving his head looking for the apex, not the game doing it for me.
Hopefully that will come in the Tuning menu. Some obviously like it, but I hope modders will always provide the "normal" configuration as at least an option. These cars also didn't use 900 degrees of steering lock. It would be better to use the original 450 or 540 or whatever it is degrees and then have the set-up settings adjusted accordingly. That's better than using 900 and providing an artificially tight steering setting in the garage....in my opinion! But overall, these cars from ASR are awesome examples of what rF2 can do!
Yes, sorry!?!? I never touch this setting, but for some strange reason it showed (and functioned) at 900 degrees the last time I used the car. It's normal now.
