[WIP] Apex Modding - Endurance 1999

We are trying our best to get a proper grid. There is still a bit to be done on the modeling front (cockpits) as well as work on provisional physics and audio.

 

You could say things are moving along. Plenty of hard work in, a lot more still to come.

 

Fantastic work. Really looking forward to the BMW V12 LMR. One of my all time favorite cars ... and that sound:

Will the cars use the latest material system?

 

A few things are out of our control such as hardcoded limitations. We spend plenty of time optimizing what is possible, some questions would be best directed elsewhere .

 

One of the oddities of the BMW LMR was the placement of the radiators... To lower the center of gravity, they laid the radiator nearly flat on the bottom of the car. This meant cooling air was drawn in from the air flowing beneath the car. They found, however, that if they set the ride-height too low for the best handling, it would choke off too much of the air needed to keep the radiators cool. So at 'most' tracks, the car was perched a little higher than the drivers/crew chiefs desired to keep the engine from frying. I don't recall if they ever made enhancements to correct that issue.

 

The 1998-2000ish Vipers!!!!!! Nothin' fancy, just more!

 

The Oreca Viper!!

 

It's quite the juxtaposition, The Toyota, the Merc, two very exotic cuttting edge cars for their day. And then the Viper....with an engine originally conceived for the Ram Pick-up and hauling RV Trailers(caravan's?UK) A Brute among Gazelles.

 

Super excited about cars like that.

Is Mercedes something like 0.8 scale ? Probably not, but it looks very small somehow lol

 

The CLK-GTR wasn't a big car to begin with, it seems the CLR is even smaller. I don't know how a tall dude like Webber could fit in that car.

 

Can't wait to do a tripple back-flip off Eau Rouge in the CLR.

Something new regarding development?

 

We have lost a couple of people from our rF2 modding scene but are still working on the cars. Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll have an in-game preview of one of the GTs.

 

And what are the news of the Audi R8 GT3 that you announced ready to join the other GT3s at the end of last December

 

It was not far from ready but game updates without documentation aren't the easiest so we shifted gears to focus more on developing the 3D and sounds for the first wave of 1999 Endurance cars. The Audi needs BOP vs the 2012/2013 GT3 cars too.
