It all began a long time ago, you can find its origins here: http://www.racingfr.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30260 It started as a 1999 Le Mans mod for rFactor (1), based on the Virtua_Le Mans 1999 mod, with authorization to use all of the content - made easier since some of us were once part of the team. However, once we started working with rFactor2 we realized we couldn't use the existing 3D material and had to restart from scratch. Below are some examples of cars that had/have to be reworked or restarted from scratch. The planned car list, for now, consists of the lm99grid It is a massive undertaking but we are passionate about these cars and would like to complete this by Le Mans of 2019 - a perfect 20th anniversary present! While the mod will be paid, a couple of the cars will be released separately for free. This is because of many reasons, our internal cost being one. There is typically a <.03% donation rate between all users who download and those who donate any amount. If you would like to contribute to Apex and help us stay alive, please follow this link. We appreciate any and all help. Below are some (early W.I.P.) preview images Credits (to be expanded): 3D, 2D art, sounds, physics: Apex Modding Team (https://www.apex-modding.com/) Additional 3D: JERACERX, ChuBower, Arnold Wong Additional 2D: Gui Lite
Fantastic! Too bad that so many of Audi's competitors stopped after 1999, but maybe this race scared away too many? It was a fantastic field nontheless, one we can only dream of today. The best of luck to you!
