I've finally started slow work on what I always felt the big potential with this mod was - making a stupid fantasy grid of cars. Ultimate goal is also to have unique performance for each part, something I was hoping would come with the mod, but it's not too complicated. Will also have to mess with the tire parameters for each brand, and create different engines based on the supplied ini files. Ideally I'd also make some sort of GUI for automatically spitting out upgrade and veh files, but that will have to wait until summer at the earliest. And yes, that green car looks really silly now that I look at it. I'm not going to change it.
Honda RA300 is released.... it is important to lift the Throttle when you shift up, otherwise the Engine will blow up take care about the RPM, Lotus not higher as 9500 RPM, Ferrari and Honda not higher as 10500 RPM
Hello chef Still great work! a real pleasure to drive these cars. The realism of the physics and the details is superb! thank you very much
the Honda Physic is from Nicola Acciarri, if you have Questions, Suggestions or Wishes you can ask him
Quick question on the Cooper: will you build the T181 as used for most of the season? I may be mistaken but the preview I saw in the other page looked like 1968 (and the nose area was longer in the 3D). You can see the photo for Kyalami 1967 where the air intake isn't as big and there's a downward slope from the cockpit to the nose: It is fun to drive and has a very good "default" feeling to it. It feels better than the 312, for example. The only thing is the cars are extremely quick around a circuit. I haven't investigated it to pin down one specific field but it must be between tires and engine (top speed was great but acceleration/car drag may be off?). By the way, the mirrors were aiming at the sky. I don't like the stock historic rf2 tires - and I think there are other shortcomings of the game at play too - because the cars can't turn like we see them in footage from old days. They shouldn't be super grippy at all but their cars feel like they weight 100kg and that isn't right. You should be able to corner a gentle radius at 80km/h without understeering off. The RA300 behaves better than that but using Kyalami as an example, and still accounting for inaccuracies of car and track, it was easy to beat the 1967 pole position time by 14-15s, so some refining still needs to take place. I can't speak too much to the audio because I only found these two samples (here and here) where the audio is not terribly distorted or where the mic can't cope with the low notes. Lastly, is there any chance of using classic gloves? I appreciate the effort going into recreating this great season of F1 and hope you can finish this! Please ping me if you need 2D assistance.
I think the Cooper on your Photo is from 1966 I think, not sure. But here is a Pic from John Surtees he drove 1966 the Cooper T81, this looks very similar to your Pic.
and here is Pedro Rodriguez in Kyalami 1967, and Kyalami was the first Race in 1967, I think they used the old Car in the first Races.
I will try to create this many different parts for the Cooper, Nose, Mirrors etc., and you can choose in the Showroom as Upgrade
