Thanks again ISI! I have some good and some bad news for you. First the good one. I love this car. Now the bad news. I crashed it. Sorry.
Tires are doing exactly what Tim wrote. I like "competition" much better. Also, so far I never encountered weird unrecoverable slides, like with some older released cars and overall I like how tires behave. May be a little to much sliding on low speeds, but thats may be exactly what this car/tires do in real life. Looking forward for every updated or new car with this tire model. Suggestion: may be this car needs some wind sound when driving.
[emoji14] Lets see if i will leave the track after some sunnday drive included the car. Thx for the car. Time for some sunnday drive for me. [emoji6]
ok, back to my original post -- my gut feeling actually was right, this car has a LOT more power than...assetto corsa's. just a quick test, i hit 175 @ monza '66 here, 150s there, where it really struggled to get out of third in the longest gear ratio. in addition to outright i felt like the isi car has a much more abrupt power curve, the kunos car seemed to kick in more like a how a turbo might. i wonder if this car is significantly lighter? basically, the mk 1 listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Cobra vs say the mk III in assetto corsa?
This car is a blast, nice surprise! Coming out of slow corners is really tricky as you want to go fast, but the slides are so much fun. I recommend trying this car on the legends oval at mountain peak.
Car drives great. Very unique. Need to try street tires but wanted to pop in here to say thanks and also to ask about AI before I forget. Are they slow? I went straight to race at Indy at gained 7 places without ever driving this vehicle before and using default setup including fuel. Also, I found a bug at Indy. They let you drive without helmets Edit - Might have something to do with line being different?
Just had a first go. Couple of laps at Silverstone. Done 2,22 which already felt good effort for the first time in this beast. It just wants to go straight, corners are like intervals between straights that this car craves for. However found an issue with it already. After finishing few laps I had a slow spin so I thought "let's just have fun", pressed the throttle pedal to the metal and did some doughnuts. Checked the replay and poof: Body parts of the car turned transparent in a smoke cloud. Want to pass it on so you can have a look at it.
As usual, a very good car release, thank's ISI ! I've never drove a Cobra in real live, only watched some videos. But to me, this car is the most authentic sim-version of this car, you can get ATM. Did i expect something different? Surley not! Some things i noticed, so far: Ai cars seems to have some strange behavior over curbs sometimes, they running into danger to flip over. While my car doesn't. I also missing wind noise, especially at high speed they should be almost as loud as the engine, in a convertible. @Racefreak1976 - You will hardly find someome who didn't crash it! @Jamie Shorting - May i ask you, where you get that info about new transmission model?
Does this car have the updated tyre contact patch thingy? No doubt it does, but I thought there might have been some mention about that. Very excited to try it out, sadly my internet connection is on one, and peak dl speed has been about 25kbps. Thanks ISI, been looking forward to this one and, from reading the posts here, it looks like I'm going to have a lot of fun with this. The profile page and screenshots look ace too! Cheers
Quick tip #1 Don't drive this at 7:00 AM before finishing at least one cup of coffee. You're in for a world of hurt if you do. I'm a happy camper though ... try Sebring.
It has the same update the karts got iirc from what Tim said in another thread. Like since chassis flex came in and all new cars got that since.
Cautious!? What are your AI %? I'm like 5 secs behind at Longford with AI at 100%. Maybe I'm just an idiot at driving.
never drove a Cobra. chased one once, I mean . . . I saw one, it went that way, I went that way . . . I never saw it again.? the sound of that car however will never leave my head. some 40 years later while standing in my garage, I hear that sound again (a guy 7 houses down was letting everybody know, he bought a replica car), however, a 427 with twin 4-into-1, 3" exhausts is absolutely unforgettable. incidentally, I never saw the car again. BTW I love this car . . . best virtual version ever of this ass happy beast
