I open this thread, because every one ignored me in the Build release thread, so maybe here I can get more attention! I did a fresh and new installation using the light version, but when I launch the game, it gives me this error Any idea how to resolve this issues please?!
Delete all inside cbash folder locate under documents/rf2/userdata/log, install this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 an reinstall rf2 I think it is related with 64/32 bits applications. I would try something like this
this folder must exists next to Launcher rFactor.exe. Plugins\Qt\Plugins\platforms and Plugins\Qt\Plugins\imageformats If these are not there the launcher will not start. How did you install this build?
Hi Jeremy. I have a similar problem, with mine since I updated to 660 the game will not launch at all, I have checked that the files that you said were there and they are, any other ideas. Regards Ron
Hi, i change my pc now for me is impossible to play, i want active my account but is impossible. I have this message "we see that your system has changed. please contact renewals@rfactor.net with your order number (RFxxxxxx) so that we can help you reactive rfactor 2 on your new system or configuration"
An issue with b798 with the above folder structure. Or relating to it at least. I did a clean reinstall (uninstall and deleted core and data folders) and in Launch rFactor.exe folder there's a Plugins folder with platforms and imageformats folders within. But the launcher doesn't start and gives an error about 'Qt platform plugin "windows"'. I found this thread and made a folder called Qt next to the Plugins folder and then copied the Plugins folder with its contents inside that. Now the launcher starts. So it looks like it's trying to find one of more file(s) in the "Qt/Plugins" folder structure or something.
Actually, that might not be the issue at all. But maybe the rFactor 2 link in Start menu. As when I link the Launch rFactor.exe directly within its location it starts. But not from the link in Start menu. Didn't realise at first that I was trying to start the launcher from two different places. Or rather didn't realise at first that there might be a difference. Anyway, in the Start menu link the Start in folder is pointing to the rF2 core. I made it point to the Launcher folder and now it works from there too. And I can delete the Qt folder I created earlier.
Got the same problem, after I've updated my game and wanted to start it from the Start menu. Here's a solution, which is worked for me: right click in the Start menu on the rFactor2 icon/Properties, than correct the - Destiny for this: "X:\....\rFactor2\Launcher\Launch rFactor.exe" - and the starting folder for this: "X:\....\rFactor2\Launcher" It worked for me, since then I haven't got this error message. (The simple reason: ISI changed the launcher's directory since the 770 build, and if you auto-update from the launcher, it can't correct this path from itself (don't ask why).)
Had the same problem when I just moved the Launcher to the task bar via drag&drop in win8: After I created a shortcut and dragged that to the task bar it worked fine
If you receive this QT error when clicking the rFactor icon, View attachment 13667 then do the following: 1) Right-click the rFactor icon. 2) Select "Properties". 3) Click the "Start in" field. 4) Append "Launcher" to the path if not present. 5) Click the "Apply" button (bottom right). EXAMPLE If the "Start in" folder path is: "C:\Program Files\rFactor2" Then change it to: "C:\Program Files\rFactor2\Launcher" Make sure quotes surround the path. View attachment 13668
me and a buddy can't start rF2 since 798 today. We both did the Auto-Update and the game didn't launch anymore. After that we both made a clean install and it still won't start. We don't get any error message at all, it's just doing nothing. The "rFactor Launcher.exe" is in the task manager and I have to cancel the process manually. Jeremy wrote the structure should be like this: Plugins\Qt\Plugins\platforms and Plugins\Qt\Plugins\imageformats on my installation its: Plugins\imageformats Plugins\platforms and all the QT5.DLLs are in the launcher folder. Manually changed the folder structure so it matches the one mentioned but it didn't solve anything. Same result with shortcut (paths are correct, checked it) and direct start from the exe. What do I do now?
Hi, I have a similar problem in that I can launch 798, but only once. After closing down the game it will not launch unless I restart the PC. This is on a fresh install, only ISI content, no plugins, and fresh profile. Uninstalled and reinstalled twice, deleted everything before installing. The game is installed all in the same folder on a dedicated HD, ie: not in the default install paths. All recent builds have been installed the same way and run faultlessly. In task manager i noticed "Launcher 32" process is running after closing game down, but closing this manually doesn't make any difference. Running Win7-64 Help!
if can try this launcher here. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/21005-Devmod-798-Build?p=294183&viewfull=1#post294183
Tried it, still the same. Starts once, if you close it and want to start again it freezes and can only be closed in the task manager Please adress this issue. What infos can we provide to speed this up? NOTE: A system restart not working always as a work-around.
The only thing I have to go on is you start the launcher, do nothing, close it and it cannot be restarted. Are you automatically logged in?
Hi Jeremy, Tried the above, still the same I'm afraid, launches once then will not relaunch, no error messages etc. Im am logged in, account details are available etc. More help please. Update:- On the simulate tab it appears I'm logged in, "Welcome, Enjoy RF2!, new content listed etc", but moving onto profile page I have to sign in, so signed I in and account info is shown. Moving to purchase tab - unavailable login required, move back to profile page and need to login again. This happens when moving between profile and purchase tabs. Update and verification tab does nothing, "Current Build 798" no checking for new build or verification of files, tabs are inactive I have now deleted my account credentials in C:\Users\........\AppData\Roaming, and reinstalled and reactivated RF2, all to no avail. GKZ, did you or your friend solve your problem?
