as the title says night glows are not working, tested with Nvidia and ATI...tested on ISI tracks just spent weeks getting a track ready for an upcoming league night race and 590 has killed any chance of that another bogus bug that shouldn't happen... well done to all involved
Night glows meaning lights? How are they not working? At all? Or displaying incorrectly? Assuming you have removed caches, etc.
I installed a clean 590 and loaded up Lime Rock Park at 11pm = darkness. Can still see something (not like nothing's being drawn at all) but nothing's lit. Did the same in (my existing) 494 and the buildings and track are all lit up, as you'd expect. Doubt I changed anything in my 494 that would have given me lights where they weren't before. Should be a quick process for someone to find that lights work for them, at which point we can start narrowing it down
Fresh 590 Install: Confirmed for me trackside lights not working, I've not got 494 installed but having crashed here before I remember clearly these lights lighting up the surrounding area, now in 590 there is none of that:
I think feedback is very appreciated, but giving a bit of details might be a good idea. i have tried now with Panoz and Civic, at Limerock and Lemans, at 1:30am, and the headlights work with my nVidia card. The first shot is with headlights on, the second with headlights off.
Something funky going on with nighttime in general. This is Mills, those are supposed to be the Red Soda or whatever signs. View attachment 12070 It would be great if someone could confirm this for me. I used auto updater if that matters.
The headlights work, the street lamps and lights inside and outside of the buildings are not lit up at night anymore. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
Do people so quickly forget that they don't normally drive around a dark track lit only by their headlights?
Seems so. "Night glows" was absolutely specific. Instead of asking for info, someone should have tested that. Night testing should be within "default stability tests"... enviado mediante tapatalk
Just to add to this. I ran a simulation AI race at Sebring this weekend, from 5pm to 9pm. As darkness started to set in everything was working ok, cars turned on their lights and all trackside lights started to come on. Then around 8pm everything other then car headlights went dark. Also while watching the race from one of the track cams all the cars started to look white (as in their livery).
Don't forget that most people here are not track devs and would have no clue what "night glows" means. Tim isn't a track dev either, neither is Max. They just want to gather up some info to bring back to the Devs. You can't expect them to know everything about track modeling. The douchiness in these forums is over the top:
