Hopefully these may sort out some of the apparent problems with the 12.9 release. 32 and 64-bit for Windows Vista, 7 and 8: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/amd_catalyst_12_11_beta_download.html Please also install the new Catalyst Application Profile: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/hotfix/catalyst_application_profiles/AMD_Catalyst_12.10_CAP1.exe SIGNIFICANT performance increase to be had for HD7000 series cards as reported here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6393/amds-holiday-plans-cat1211-new-bundle EDIT: Nope, this IS the latest release from AMD. Initial report: These are working GREAT.
Not sure what you are on, but these were posted yesterday Both the driver and CAP linked in OP ARE the latest, confirmed. Please refer to my sig for more information.
AMD driver versions are listed as year.month, not major build.minor build so 12.11 is newer than 12.8. I think AMD should have put a 0 in front of the 8 for less confusion, heheh.
Very true MarcG, unfortunately most folks think that 8 is higher than 1.1 as that is how you would read it normally for version updates. If the drivers were listed as 12.08 and 12.11 it would be a different story.
AMD Drivers 13.1 released New 13.1 drivers are released and they've fixed my white screen flickering in Crossfire, oooh yeaahh They did some new stuff in Game Profiles, where you can edit and save those directly in the same window, also nice addition. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx
AMD VIDEO DRIVER INSTALL TIP unless you need it, when installing the driver, click custom, NOT express, then only select 3 things: 1. catalyst control centre 2. sdk runtimes 3. graphics driver (or video driver or whatever, this is the driver itself) 4. and the catalyst install manager will be greyed out and ticked no matter what just those 4, you don't need that other bloatware crap, transcoding, drag n drop, smoothvision, hydra, etc etc
I have a ATI Radeon HD 6490M. I was able to install the 12.11 beta drivers with no issue. Now, with the 13.1 drivers, I only get items 2 and 4 in my listing. I am guessing it does not see my hardware as compatible with the driver. I may have to wait till 13.2 beta is out?
I have installed the 13.1 on my 6970 and (think) I see a nice improvement , mostly in smoothness a few fps more but the over all flow of the game feels allot smoother now .. I believe the drivers are mostly for the 7000 series that lacked the performance they were thought to have hardware wise , it seems they have fixed the spiking of frames of over 50 mil sec's that plagued the card with slight pausing and stutter .. So IDK if it’s the placebo effect or these drivers really help my 6970 ?? lol but so far I have tested F2 with 20 cars at Mid Ohio and held fps from the low 70’s to a high of 99 .... what's more noticeable is the smoothness ... so until somebody tells me otherwise I'm thinking they helped my performance with rf2 .. lol
Well that sucks. Guess I will stick with 12.11 beta till I upgrade later this year. Will most likely be moving to nVidia though, unless I hear AMD/ATI is making more progress with this game and better fps.
Mate there is a thread , actually 2 for this in the correct forum. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/9036-ATI-and-NVIDIA-updates Even here, you see someone ignores my thread makes another and the request for sticky falls on death ears. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/9449-ATI-and-Nvidia Why not make it easier for everyone, single sticky thread .... ffs
Make sure you go to the AMD site, and choose your platform (desktop, mobile, workstation, etc etc), your operating system, your card series, etc etc then it will tell you the proper driver to download for you, just choosing a random driver file to download is risky my friend.
I was just trying to get the word across for those install tips, but ya maybe i shouldn't have started that other thread, you're probably right,
New drivers yield a nice 13% FPS improvement on my single HD 7850. For the money, I really like this card.
