Well, I've done a 20 min practice in Putnam Park. Front left tyre gets really really hot after a few laps.
Sorry I dropped out near the end of Race 1, partially my own frustration having not had enough time to practice the track but also my car took major suspension damage when I was presented with two cars sat sideways on the track at turn 5 and upon heading into the gravel as the only route of safety one of the cars reversed into my path. No idea who but that doesn't really matter as that's racing Driving with suspension damage is difficult with a game pad as you can't just trim your steering like you can on a wheel so that put me out as despite liking to drive with a loose rear ( oohhh mrs ) it just ends up trying to switch ends on you at every opportunity. I made the decision to call it a night and hopefully do better next time
Ure driving that fast with a game pad???!!! Dont make me throw my wheel out of window! (just remembered privatebrian did too and he was too)
A question for the fellows using game pad. In order to get a fine control of the car without the force feedback of a wheel, what kind of setup do you prepare for the car? mostly understeer? the opposite?
I think I can answer this one. Before it was OK as we had 10 drivers in the race, but now it's over 15 and growing. Since only the top 10 get points, what will happen on the last lap of race 1, drivers that know they will not finish in the points will slow down or even stop and let other drivers past them in order to get a better grid position for next race. Unsporting of them I know, but it will happen. DJC
I agree it is unsporting if this does happen. As I remember I had fine racing at last places with people, not caring about points whatsoever and having a good time.
I'm not looking at my position during the race to be honest. Since we can't do pit stops I just drive as fast (or slow in my case ) as I can.
I know it wasn't you. No worries David. Mirrors weren't working for me yesterday. I probably should have tried to leave and come back in. I was gauging everything by time to the guy behind me, and quick look backs.
In that case it could be done as in GP2, where only the first 8 drivers (the ones who get points) get their grid reversed.
with the mirror fix you have to stay in the room, if the room has forwarded to the next session you won't get mirrors. I tried to do it as late as possible. Hopefully it's gone soon.
I would be fine with this, too. It's kinda hard to stay in front of someone who is driving way faster than me. And I don't want to ruin the race of someone who could win like what happened with me and Marcel W. I lost control and span out while he was behind me and he had nowhere to go so he crashed into me and had to pit due to the damage. Even though it was just an race accident it's bothering me to see someone loses places just because I make a mistake.
I'm looking for some feedback on the 1960's upgrade v1.01 too. Looking to update the server tonight or tomorrow.
Am I missing out here? Since when is the 60' 1.1 update out? Isn't that the one we drive with already or is it new? (Can't put on my pc right now, so can't see what I'm driving now )
Like you said, a race incident, could have happened to anyone including me. In fact, although you were in front of me and I certainly was aware of that, I paid too much attention to the kerb on the left to get a good exit and didn't even see you start spinning until it was too late. So no problem, mate, although I would be bothered as well, so I understand.
