Why does it have to be a life or death choice over one sim or another? I'll be buying rFactor 2, I currently use iRacing primarily but still have GTR Legends, GTR series, RACE Series, Codemasters F12010 (XBOX and PC), netKar Pro, Live For Speed, rFactor, Forza 1,2 and 3, the Gran Turismo series and many more and have enjoyed each of them.

    Surface physics: iRacing wins
    Netcode: iRacing wins
    Sense of speed: rFactor wins
    Tire physics: NetKar Pro wins
    Moddability: rFactor wins
Dynamic weather: No winner (rFactor 2?)
Force feedback: I have no clue
Best car damage (visual and physics): Live for Speed

    Most important for simaracers are:

surface / tire / forcefeedback and maybe netcode

And because FFB is in iR and Netkar pro much better than in rfactor..so the winner is:

    Iracing :) .
    I'm sorry but it's true ;)

Rfactor 2 does not exist, so it doesn't count ;)

    Quality of tracks: iRacing wins
    Variety of tracks: Rfactor wins
    variety of cars: Rfactor wins
Offline racing: Gtr2 or Race07 wins

Variety is ok, but more important is quality. Quality= iRacing

I think 50 high quality cars are better than even 1000 poor quality cars.

I hope ISI will choose quality as a priority with rfactor 2.

That is all about FOV. iRacing is the only sim in history to even allow you to get the FOV to a realistic level (in the main menu). If you set rFactor up the same as iRacing the "sense of speed" difference is non-existent.

I have been trying to get rFactor to just load on my computer. NO help in the forums. I do see lots of iRacing bashing from CndRacer. iRacing looks pretty good to me about now. Thanks for the heads up CndRacer!

Also, if I am correct, iRacing is all authentic context - laser scanned tracks and hyper-accurate car models based on manufacture actual design files - for a price. I could not find the same with rFactor. Most of the leagues seem to use other peoples designs of dubious authenticity. Maybe rFactor2 will be all authentic / accurate content?? Otherwise, I might as well go back to my Xbox or invest in iRacing.

I'd go to nogripracing.com or racedepartment.com and use their forums if you are having launch issues. This forums is not really a helpdesk.

As far as accuracy goes most people will vouch that using accurate figures from a vehicle only goes so far to make something realistic. Anyone can look up horsepower figures, weight and distribution, wind drag, Skid pad results, gearing ratios, torque splits etc etc and match them to an in-game car. The tire compounds, tire physics, suspension geometry, road grip, steering sensation, collision interactions and other factors are more dependent on the sim's features not anything a modder can deliver professional or armature. IE, driving a car in rFactor or iRacing neither will be "real" there are too many factors that just can't be simulated yet. Motion information is a big missing piece of the puzzle as well. Baby-shaker setups hardly do the violence of the real thing justice. Even Cruden sim's aren't scary enough to really get that fear factor of imminent death up to its proper racing level.

Troling? Lol, it was just his opinion about iRacing.

And he has absolutely right. iRacing is most realistic sim for PC for now.
You like it or not. It doesn't matter. For now iR is the best, and is much more closer to reality than any other sim.

I hope rfactor2 will be as good as iR or even better.

    EDIT @down:

Netkar PRO has so many bugs, it is just beta version with few cars and tracks.
Yes, FFB is very good, but so what.

Can you create league in NK PRO? No.

And second question. Do you feel conected to the track in rfactor 1 ? ;)

Don't get me wrong. I really like factor 1, and I'm waiting for rf2, but I'm not blind.

In IRacing simulator I do not feel connected to the track, do not think has a realistic physics. I've never tried a racing car but I can distinguish what is logical and realistic and what is not. Anyway, the system runs and the online is perfect

Instead I feel perfectly at netkarpro tire slippage, I feel connected to the track ... etc

I think it's appropriate to give an opinion. Ensure or require a sim is the best or the worst is very risky

Anyway it is another opinion. Sorry for my bad English

Totally agree on NetkarPro comment. NKP moment is rather aimed at hotlaping, but as a simulator gives me more.

Of Course rfactor is now outdated , rfactor 2 we hope many joys

The varying views rather prove the original point - "best" is very personal.

rFactor has represented such ridiculous value for money that it has been an absolute no brainer purchase for the informed sim racer. I see no reason to think differently of rFactor2. The concept of having a new engine for the modders to build on and a developer working on continual updates (iR) would seem to set us up well for a continual flow of new and exciting sim racing developments.

You're an idiot. There are two leagues that I can think of for netkar. Do some research before you open your big mouth.
