The *developers* have stated multiple times *this week* that they have data showing rFactor 2 VR usage is LESS than 5%. They have access to data you don't. Your gut feel doesnt mean anything.
@Seven Smiles That would be something. 50years later of such progress would add up to over 100% improvement, assuming that it wouldn't exponentially slow down (and it would exponentially slowdown) No way. I would not be surprised if less than half of simracers even has FFB steering wheel + pedals. But thats not when talking about all most active simracers, who usually race a lot and knows most things there is to know how to get most of their sim. But I am talking about those who has bought sim. Maybe even those who bought it and has installed and played at least one time. Perhaps I'd believe that 20% is % of those who are consistently active simracers/gamers. IMO those who aren't big players, but has VR are either rich or gets them as a gift. Must not forget that with VR also comes need for much much more capable GPU. Probably also need to buy glasses for diminishing eyes health.
I was talking to an optician about this and he told me that VR should be better than screens because using VR, the user changes the focal length and with screens they don't. It seems that screens are worst for tired eyesight.
No vote, no response to Steam survey too probably, and some wonder why their preferences are not taken in account. Those statistics are not there to steel your money or personal data, they are often used to make decisions like that. Probably most of VR users don't respond to Steam Surveys. So S397 takes decisions with data they have, very few VR users, so no priority on VR. Good example of deny of statistics that have bad effects.
Yes, when i se Ok, anyway, my machine is still the same, I have 3 monitors connected on the desk.Vr only for the cockpit, and 90 % of the time i´m offline in steam, playing RF2 in VR. Maybe i´m not the only one doing that, so maybe i don´t count to the statistics.
Yeah if we start counting controller users too and the general gamer public, numbers would diminish indeed. At least in my league where we're more hardcore sim racers it would be 1/5 using VR.
..and for every VR user you would have 4-5 monitor users never bothered to vote either. Mountain out of a molehill. Best VR should be implemented every sim would be your perfect world, I can't not agree. For me, it would be that every sim had the best engine, maybe in another 20 years.
Yep... still some people think you're actually focusing on a screen 3cm from your eyes. I don't think anyone can do that, at any age, but certainly by adulthood...
question to S397 staff will there be a forum for LMU or section for LMU from S397 official as this one ? or only on discord ?
I can't understand the reaction against the features that users don't use. If i use wheel, i'm against controllers. If i use a not direct drive wheel, i'm against direct drive wheels. If i use screen, i'm against VR (or viceversa). The features are good for all users. The more people play, the better for everyone
I think the adverse reaction to VR is that the VR users are like VEGANS. They only eat beans & Tofu and therefore we all must eat beans & Tofu. Some times I envy VR drivers, sometimes I envy triple screen guys, or folks with cockpits, we all use what we can.
