Im one of those No VR brats, but heck, S397 has fulfilled their promises in the past and the price is just right that it will be day 1 for me. just wishing to see the content spill over to rF2 in some form like DLC.
A pure guess but I'd expect LMU to be locked down in some way much like ACC. If there was going to be some way to have LMU and rF2 DLC interchangeable then why bother with LMU. Also LMU is going to support consoles at some point isn't it? More likely LMU will become rF3 at some point. Edit: let's rephrase that "LMU will become the core used for rF3 at some point."
I don't see how a game called LMU can become rF3 when the name already implies it will cater to a specific series. It seems to me like a side-project, a bit like ACC was to AC. AC to this day has a four times larger average daily concurrent user count on Steam than ACC and we are talking about a game that hasn't been updated in almost ten years. People much prefer to stick to their platform (or the platform where others are) and changing them over to a new one is a bit like getting people to update from the old Windows to a newer version. The only racing titles that have success with moving people over to the new version are those by Codemasters, now EA, but in their model the newest game is more like a DLC for the previous game. When you don't sell DLC's, it's easier to move users over when they haven't spent a ton of money on the previous title.
I assume you are talking about LMU being moddable. I have no idea where did you get that but official FAQ states there are no plans for it being so.
Such a huge amount of drama because it launches into early access and has no VR support at day 1. Should they rather release it in a broken state or rather give players a polished experience? Maybe this also answers the question if it's just a simple rF2 reskin. One thing I do know for sure that it is an EA with a huge amount of content for a bargain, far more than AC and ACC for example. For the same amount of money I don't get the full Le Mans experience anywhere else, let alone the full WEC calendar. I don't get the Nascar, I will give that to the people who are looking for something negative and I don't get a championship mode on release. IIRC there were other simracing titles that were released without VR support that do fairly well today, including rF2. So before the noVR-noBuy brigade chimes in, I would like to point out that people without a monitor who only use VR are propably a tiny fraction of the target audience and that VR is still planned to be added later this year. When I hang out with my friends to have a few bear in the summer and take a break from sim racing after I have enjoeyed this titles for months, the VR brigade can sweat their heads off.
Well good luck to them to replicate WEC. All other sims suffer at least one problem. No save No acceleration realtime Not enough car slots Not enough paint slots No flashing LED boards Marshalls without animated flags There are ISI online features I hope get carried over: Swap cars in garage is advantage to all other sim which require you to rejoin, that's if you can. Making server and racing same tower possible. Which allows you to also run server for offline, that allows you to: swap cars in garage arrange exact grid add and boot AI easier using the dedicated menu while lapping no pause so you can multi-task while test sessions run, etc. etc. etc.
But Karo Syrup...I mean Kerosine has sooo many other uses...burning down barns, lighting Kero Sy...kerosine lamps...
Agree everything you say. I would add rFactor 3 does not equal ISIMotor3.0 or what it may have been. "If it walks like a duck" does not apply. Took Gjon 2 years to develop ISIMotor2.0 engine alone, they had 6 years with no restrictions.
oi mate lol Not picking on any sim just a simple list of simple things rF2 supports Like I said I can add more but those things I like and want. All I know is every sim can't do all because none of them restart saved sessions, correct ? That AMS 2 does not support any of these things is immaterial. That is most probably in top 3 for Endurance offline for me as you well know from GTR2. I have always stated reservations but now it's EA we will see if eventually possible to load 24 hour race. imho more like 6 hour, we will see. Well yes AMS 2 has added LED boards ( make sense if they were WEC IMSA tracks first would be good ) However they don't flash yet ? Not sure if AMS 2 has problem with animations ? Like their Marshalls are like those clowns at the amusements parks you put balls in their mouths ? Nod their heads back and forth but no waving flags in their hands I can see ? Do sessions rF2 Lemans set 224 minutes x 10. Practice you won't get flashing LED except for incident. Qualifying you get blues as well. Race well everything is flashing green at start like Christmas tree, very immersive. Then constant flashing in distance tells you what is happening everywhere. When you pass slower classes and get blue just as you reach them, big blue flash at your side ( must look good in VR ! ) 44 car field, I add 1 By Kolles and 1 Alpine to shake things up Also GT3 so you have 3 distinct snail trails to lap in Hyper.
Remember that "no LMU" means ..... "no VR in LMU" So if you want VR in LMU, buy LMU day one to support LMU and ask for VR in LMU to be implemented as soon as possible. BTW, I am not against VR. I use VR in flight sims myself (Quest 3) Just not in sim racing because of the low FOV and the lower immersion factor for me compared to triple monitors with real racing gear like wheels, shifter, gloves etc...YMMV.
does kartkraft goes to public release after early access, if i remember correctly they abandoned the game and leave it in a half baked state. hope they can make lmu finished but i have doubts.
