Hi - I tried to get on to a server last night, not the online system, and it wouldn't let me - authentication error.

 

Oh, I didn´t know that, maybe now it´s tied to the Steam account as @davehenrie said and is a requirement.

 

Great Job on the system Studio 397 , Like Paul and others I'm really enjoying this online racing and haven't really enjoyed online since, F1 Challenge mods, nascar 4 and 2003 season , It's been mostly single player for the last 20 years , wholly hell that sounds Sad,but I enjoy it.

 

I wanted to race a friend with our custom content, just p2p multiplayer.
But this simple multiplayer connection hosted by one of the computers seems to be gone.
Getting in to renta-a-server paywall now? Or am i missing some button i need to check?

 

How do you normally run a server?

No change to what's available.

 

Don't you see the old Server List, when you click the Button "Servers" on the right Bottom?
Or what exactly is the Problem?

I was wondering the same thing. I don't know why we have to go searching all over the place for information, when it could just be placed on the forum. I did find it in the end.

If there'sa problem in any mod you can check and fix this in the mod manager too, think you know this but not all know this.
here in this dir: ... Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64\ModMgr.exe if there is a join to a MP server problem, check if all mods prob. installed or delete some failures.
The in-game mod manager is fine too for check, delete or install mods. But somtimes you need the external one.

 

Getting close to last years Q1 drop, we also had a release candidate by January last year. All quiet atm though on the RF2 front. Should I be worried?

LMU early access is like a week away. There's basically no work on rF2 at the moment, and probably all year, because of LMU. Whether rF2 will ever be developed in the same way again, we don't know.
