Weird to read.. Lol I'm a old fart, Stefano for me is Kunos. They stole his nickname. He's doing a sailing simulator indeed.
Too bad IMO that no one of ISI's incredibly talented people in charge of the physics engine didn't stay. For example, I would have preferred Terrence Groening at rFactor 2 rather than iRacing which is a simulation that I will not be using.
I have heard this off a few ppl all developers are vanilla wont take risks, afraid of what I really dont know that's how you learn & move forward. Hopefully 1 steps outside the box & takes some risks.
So in December i can uninstall my Rfactor 2 game. ( juheee!! 80gb. free place) Le mans' coming for Automobilista 2 (cars, track) Le Mans Ultimate is coming... GT 3 , GT 4 playing with ACC... So...
The major interest for 10 years on rFactor 2, and soon on LMU, is the very impressive realism allowed by the quality of the physics engine of rFactor 2 and its car and laser track content. That's really the point, having a realism in the driving experience. *You don't have that at this point in AMS 2 or ACC, and quite unlikely in AC2 (fingers crossed for this one). After that it's up to you to see what you are looking for in simulation. We don't all have the same priorities.
His main priority should be a larger SSD, Really affordable these days. Every new addition is welcome here, and really looking forward to Lemans ultimate!
beamNG is kinda doing that, doing something unique. idk how profitable they are but looking at steam review scores , they are much better compared to ACC and especially RF2 plus steamchart player count is higher than both combined ,so they should be doing fine. so based above, it is safe to assume there is decent amount of market there if you just open up sim more. and i don't want boat and trucks offroad stuff etc like beamNG , just cars on asphalt.
Don't uninstall it, i've gone several times during last 10 years away from rFactor2 but kept coming back to the best simulation experience i've ever had...
I've found when collating old sim news and gradually adding it to my site that over and over again sim racing and all gaming went through periods of little risk taking. At the same time you have big companies buying each other up, other companies going broke because they spent too much. It's all repeating over and over. lol We lost 2-3 Geoff Crammond F1 sims to company takeovers and crashes.
So! Hi all! Some people remember me, some don't. Everyone can see my old posts about development and big mistakes in game development. I got banned and here is the result. Other people, creators who continue the work of ISI. What do we have as a result of continuous development? The answer is obvious. The company, suddenly overwhelmed by the development of rFactor1, wanted to capitalize on rFactor2. At the same time, they are ambitiously declaring that they are the best at doing what no one else can do! They encouraged everyone to invest in a product that they assured would evolve over the years. As a result, it was sold and left as a legacy of unresolved problems! The new company makes money on everyone with new promises, in fact, which cannot solve OLD problems. And here is a new marketing ploy that again wants to convince everyone that this is the best exclusive. LMP! Where is the cross? where are the promised living surfaces? where is the new ultra cool graphics? optimization? Guys, back to rFacto1! it's a flexible, complete product that doesn't have a complicated relationship with modding!... -10 years of life! Thanks ISI!
All those things are in rF2. I'm glad I keep getting notifications on this post, it's super interesting to see one like this that just seems completely insane. Considering the rF1-love I am genuinely confused why you made the choice to look at rF2 at all.
