I KNEW it! Just like the Champ to be searching for an edge..... The shocking thing about this image, is how much room is available for the front tires. Dang, F1 HAS to shorten the cars.
No im not Q2 new sound engine. https://racinggames.gg/news/rfactor-2-may-q2-update-adds-new-engine-sounds-cars-tracks-more/

So I have a question. I did a full re-install of my rf2 because I was having some issues, unsubbed everything and re-sub to the 70's mod amongst other things. I really enjoy doing full championship seasons with the use of R2LA. Just finished a 67 season and rolling onto a 72 one that I started before my re-install using the "add on" by Bears. Things worked fine apart from Jacky Icyx's car being all black for some reason. Anyway tried to re-install the rfcmp file for that and it complains that it can't find Chief's mod. Think it probably a versioning issues because it refers to 0.94 when the latest is 0.97. Anyway doesn't look like Bears is supporting that mod anymore, since there's no updates on RD for it. Please correct me if I am wrong here. So I thought to create my season, I would use the early 70's carset Chief has built into the mod. The problem here I have is that there are multiple cars for certain drivers and with the new UI in RF2, there doesn't seem a way to select which Jackie Stewart for example I want to race against. So I can't form a grid that doesn't have 5 Stewarts, or 2 Hills or whatever. Any help advise to stop me having to skip 1972ish, since I don't have the time, skill or patience to create my own cars and paint them into a carset. and move to the 1975 season ?
@bears F1 72 skinpack still works perfectly with F1 70 style v0.97, make sure you have put Formula_One_1972_Teams.mas in rFactor 2\Installed\Vehicles\F1_70's_Style\0.97 folder. (note, do not mistake it with Chief's F1 60 style mod) As for the Jacky Ickx skin issue, it is caused by a small typo in 04_F1_1972.veh file ("04_F1_72.dds", should be named "04_F1_1972.dds"). I have attached corrected veh file below, just unzip, then open Formula_One_1972_Teams.mas in MAS2 tool, drag 04_F1_1972.veh file into MAS2 window, then from main menu > Save, done.
Sorry guys Svictor told me about this a long time ago but a combination of real world and other projects saw it fall off my radar, here is a new Mas file try it out see if its ok i will update RD in time there is another skin pack I need to update there also https://www.mediafire.com/file/ujjp8ar4skwqcyl/Formula_One_1972_Teams.mas/file
Thanks bears and Svictor. I've been using the rfcmp method because the notes said it added a talent file, the .mas route I assume will give the drivers and cars equal performance ? That'll not really work well with my full championship since different drivers will be competitive at each race, but I will still give it a try and I'm sure will enjoy. The 72 skinpack here is fantastic looking btw, much respect.
Great mod...thank you...a couple questions about the custom 60's Style cars: Can AI use my creations? How can I delete custom cars from my list?
Ya know, I can't even imagine HOW someone makes wires/hoses that properly mimic the location, size and purpose of the real thing. EVERYTHING about 3d modeling amazes me...just like the skills of painters...wuff!
there is a Test for a Upgrade File also for the AI Cars, I have tested it with the Pescarolo Matra and the Attwood BRM, in the Basic constellation they have no Rear Wing, but you can choose it in the Showroom.
Sorry Chief, I couldn't find the page where you probably answered this already. So is the other 67 mod that you were working on now dead? Nobody has quite made it to the finish line with the quality that you had going on that one.
Folks I have finally produced an updated version of the F1 72 Season add on to work with V0.97 of this great mod (unfortuantely I continue to have health issues so I do what I can when I can) you can get it here https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/f1-1972-style.42194/ there is two "installs" included MAS and RFCMP update only use one, note the update one uses talent files and my brief testing they work ok
