Just a quick update on the QR track. I have started work on the outer terrain to make it a little more realistic and nicer to the horizon. I have started in one corner and i think it will look OK once I get the colours and trees sorted.
Getting where I want QR....now to plant some trees Once I am happy with the trees I will release after testing.
My league is testing for new series and we had a server with the Cup car at Sandown, which was fun. Why I mention this is my track preference is Lakeside first, Oran Park then Sandown. So maybe tonight I'll try Lakeside offline. I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Sorry for going off topic Mike. Glad to see the tracks are still improving. I don't envy the "gardening" you have to do.
I am going to write a stern letter to Lakeside's parents complaining that it does not play well with others.....What a pain in the A. It will get there, but a little more work than QR for some reason. Literally a 12 hour day on these tracks thus far....
Hey everyone. Just an update on the updates. We got more news, re. my bride and the cancer diagnosis. So, the next few weeks will be filled with more radiation treatments and chemo etc. So again there will be a lull. I really enjoy doing the work as it keeps my mind busy. I will post an update tonight for Oran Park and then there will be a break for a while. Thank you for your support over this time. Really appreciate it
Hey everyone. Bit of a break so messing around with QR. Since the last update, QR and Lakeside look cartoony, and to be honest QR needs a texture overhaul. Way over saturated.... QR is hard to get right because in winter...it is brown and dead....summer brown and dead......spring perfect etc So....starting to do basically what I have done with Oran Park, even using the same grass textures and a brand new hi-res spec map. I think it will look good and give a more natural look to it. Very early WIP shots....
Things are pretty quiet at home.......so......more work on QR. This is the drift area at the rear of the circuit. Adding as much detail as I can with new objects and so on. Not a good mesh to work with...but it should be OK. Not 100% accurate. **edit** I just added the latest. Pretty happy with it, just need to map the bump and spec maps and add the concrete gutter, re-map the grass. Make signs.....and...and....
Hi Mike, are you aware that the AI cars get stuck coming out of the QR pit garages. I only ran a few cars and some of them got stuck and give up coming out again. The second issue is when the cars that can get out, when they return to the pits they do not teleport back to the garage location and stay stuck outside of their garage, thus blocking the path for other cars and also don't attempt to go out again. Awesome track detail, be great if these issues could be addressed at some point when you have the time.
