I figured 2 months and 2 days was long enough to avoid the mad rush.
Yes, better late than never (so some say) it was time to roll up the windows, apply the RainX and put new wiper blades on.
My first rain race, actually first rain practice, qual and warm up. ;)

2 race league event, Sao Paulo in the GT3s driving the McLaren.
It went as expected with only a couple of things to note.
Reflection of buildings on wet track was way too high. I don't know if this is a common comment or my graphics settings. I'm not too worried about it.

I was very surprised after the overheated and now useless wet tyres got replaced with new soft slicks.
The different feel of the FFB on my OSW was something I had not expected so I was very impressed and hope the surprises keep coming. :)

I don't think that track has been updated for rain yet.

    Thanks for the info Coutie.
I just looked and didn't see it listed in the OP and nothing mentioned in the Workshop about being updated for rain so that answers the reflection issue. ;)

We have just updated the GT3 pack with the new community skins!

    A couple of notes:
    1. This update only includes the community skin packs, there are no changes to physics or 3D
    2. All league content that was created off the base rfcmps will stay compatible, we did not update the base
    3. You may need to open and close the Launcher twice: If you get an error (which you can ignore), or you do not see the new skins in the car list.
Updated versions will show in the car list as:
    • Radical GT3 v1.9971
    • Mercedes AMG GT3 v1.991
    • McLaren 650S GT3 v1.9931
    • Callaway Corvette GT3 v1.971
    • Bentley Continental GT3 v1.971

I paid over $100.00 AU to buy this game which is more than I've paid for any game and I think I've had excellent value for money. What with all the cars and tracks for FREE. I've only paid for one lot of DLC which is the GT3 pack (may get the others yet)
It would cost me more to take my wife out to dinner.
Currently on steam for $31.99US (about $42AU) this is next to nothing
When you pay next to nothing, you have next to nothing to whinge about. It would be nice to come here and not see all the whinging. :)

Thank you S397 great job as always. Keep it coming :)

I guess this was in relation to my comment !
What use is a skin pack for a DLC from months ago if i cant run the game with my current system ?
I was just stating that there was nothing here in this update that would help performance .
But i do agree , the Sim is cheap but i guess you get what you pay for .
Sorry but just beyond impatient but wouldn't even frequent here if i wasnt longing to enjoy rF2 in VR !

It is wierd, you have a killer system and yet with my medium spec system rf2 runs great with medium setting and 15-20 ai.
I Hope these performance updates help everyone out and not just people with low end hardware

In VR ? with anything other than low , no SS and No PP or AA ?????
I want to be able to play with somewhat decent settings ! The game doesn't look the best so the settings need to be high to make it look decent .
I mean , @4k Ultra it looks and runs well and good (well at least it did last i tried) but i use VR now and i struggle to get a solid smooth 90 fps even with compromised settings .
Ive upgraded my Ram and will be getting a better CPU soon but really my current system should smash rF2 VR as is !

Is vr more demanding than running triple 24” 1080p screens.?
I haven’t kept up with vr performance since it released,is it that bad

rF2 basically uses twice as much CPU for rendering VR compared to 4K on single screen, so you need to overclock CPU heavily, especially if you're on an older gen i5/i7.

    My 6600k is @ 4.7 !
My i5 is classed as older right ? I guess even Kaby Lake is older now we have 6 core Intel .
Weird thing is , neither GPU or CPU are not being fully utilized by rf2 but the performance makes it feel like im at 100% somewhere .
I have similar issues with R3E but that runs a lot smoother than rF2 does and AC and pC2 are in a different league when it comes to smooth 90 fps at High settings .

No basically an i5 6th gen (Skylake) would be as good as an i5 8th gen for rF2 (assuming matched frequencies). Kaby Lake was only an overclocked release of Skylake and Coffee Lake (8th gen) only added two more cores, which are useless for rF2 as it's the single core performance which is limiting. 6th-7th-8th gen CPU's all share the same IPC (instructions per cycle), so for single core speed they are identical if you clock them the same.

So i'm stuck with this performance until S397 optimize more :(
My Ram is now 16Gb 3200 OC'd to 3600 so cant do much else as 6600k wont go past 4.7 and 1080ti is 2088/12008 !
