How can we get brake pressures like in the real life telemetry? Are the brake temps OK? I thought they were supposed to be 1 thousand degrees C (F1 trivia at least). What about the brake pedal taking so long to reach its peak and intercepting the throttle? I should be faster with it right? I just cant press the load cell faster. Again ISI 2012 Silverstone.
Are you getting 1:30 on the GT Track? If so you are blistering fast on this track and it looks like you have a very good setup IF you are getting 1:30 on this track?- No car I've tried has gotten me anywhere near close to 1:30 on this track- seems like folks are getting around 2:00+ on this track http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/silverstone
The telemetry temperatures are OK. Consider that the local temperature at the abrading surface might reach over a thousand degrees for high wearing rate peak values. However, the mean temperature of the brake (where the telemetry thermocouple is connected) does not reach those extreme values. Consider F1 Trivia as paparazzi news. They just want a nice header.
FISI 2012 is the fastest car in the game. The guys at FSR used to do 1:29 with medium tyres. I dont know yet how to setup a car. The setup attached is Codemasters F1 style.
@caravan_driver Silverstone isn't heavy on brakes either, so don't expect massive temps there. Don't worry about not slamming on the brakes 'instantly', the brake torque ramp up means it will never be that instant anyway, and to some extent even an F1 car doesn't want to immediately be put into full braking - it's like immediately throwing it into a turn. Cars react better to smoother inputs. The brake pressure telemetry is still just a % value, it was said it would eventually provide actual pressure instead but that hasn't happened yet.
If you're doing 1:42 with the same car/track combo, no setup in the world is going to get you to 1:30. You need to examine your driving. The list you've linked to is a list of sedans. You're talking about F1 cars. There's a huuuuuge difference.
I was refering to this kind of telemetry below. The brakes and throttle are totally different from mine. Caterham F1 used to have this simplified telemetry for all tracks. But their website was wiped clean. These are from 2011 or 2012.
Yes, the example rF2 plugin comments suggest they are/were planning to provide kPa for the brakes (just a different unit to bar), but it hasn't happened yet.
I'm not looking for any setup- I'm wondering what people are getting in F1 cars on this track, and wondering how they are accomplishing this feat- What do you get in Silverstone? On the national track and international and GP track I can pretty much crush the tracks, this track however is giving me fits for some reason- IF 1:"30 is what folks are getting- I didn';t realize the link gave was for sedans- but whatever- I can't find FI lap times for the track
Wow- I've got to somehow find 10 more seconds- that's gonna bug me lol- I'll be happy with anything in the 1:30's- I tried the FISI 2012 and can't do the times I can with the ASR 2017- I'm about 8 seconds slower or so with the 2012
You can represent things in different forms. I see no difference in the way braking is represented between latest picture and the one you posted before. They both show braking as percentage.
I didnt write that write. I meant the way is ramps up so quick IRL. And the throttle is also different. If I stab the throttle like that in the game is death. @me you Spoiler: the setup.svm VehicleClassSetting="FISI_2012" UpgradeSetting=(578,0,0,0) //VEH=I:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Installed\Vehicles\ISI_Formula_ISI_2012\1.60\FISIR_2012_12.VEH //UpgradeClass= //Tyres=2 //Rear Flap Deactivation=0 //Steering Configuration=0 //Track Conditions=9 //Note: settings commented out if using the default [GENERAL] Notes="" Symmetric=0 //CGHeightSetting=0//21.5 cm //CGRightSetting=4//50.0:50.0 //CGRearSetting=7//46.0:54.0 //WedgeSetting=0//0.00 turns //FrontTireCompoundSetting=2//Soft //RearTireCompoundSetting=2//Soft FuelSetting=0//7L (N/A) //NumPitstopsSetting=0//0 //Pitstop1Setting=0//N/A //Pitstop2Setting=0//N/A //Pitstop3Setting=0//N/A [LEFTFENDER] //FenderFlareSetting=0//1 [RIGHTFENDER] //FenderFlareSetting=0//1 [FRONTWING] //FWSetting=48//29.0 ° [REARWING] RWSetting=33//63 ° [BODYAERO] //RadiatorSetting=5//6 //BrakeDuctSetting=0//1 [SUSPENSION] //FrontWheelTrackSetting=0//144.9 cm //RearWheelTrackSetting=0//142.1 cm FrontAntiSwaySetting=8//22 N/mm //RearAntiSwaySetting=24//47 N/mm FrontToeInSetting=17//-0.325 ° //FrontToeOffsetSetting=0//0.00 deg //RearToeInSetting=14//0.375 ° //RearToeOffsetSetting=0//0.00 deg LeftCasterSetting=8//7.25 ° RightCasterSetting=8//7.25 ° //LeftTrackBarSetting=0// //RightTrackBarSetting=0// //Front3rdPackerSetting=36//23.0 mm //Front3rdSpringSetting=24//60 N/mm //Front3rdSlowBumpSetting=5//6 //Front3rdFastBumpSetting=2//3 //Front3rdSlowReboundSetting=3//4 //Front3rdFastReboundSetting=2//3 //Rear3rdPackerSetting=42//29.0 mm //Rear3rdSpringSetting=30//160 N/mm //Rear3rdSlowBumpSetting=12//13 //Rear3rdFastBumpSetting=8//9 //Rear3rdSlowReboundSetting=15//16 //Rear3rdFastReboundSetting=12//13 //ChassisAdj00Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj01Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj02Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj03Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj04Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj05Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj06Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj07Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj08Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj09Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj10Setting=0//1 //ChassisAdj11Setting=0//1 [CONTROLS] //SteerLockSetting=2//12.9:1 (Medium) RearBrakeSetting=8//56.0:44.0 BrakePressureSetting=60//160 kgf (100%) //HandfrontbrakePressSetting=0//0% //HandbrakePressSetting=0//0% //TCSetting=0// //ABSSetting=0// [ENGINE] //RevLimitSetting=10//18,000 //EngineBoostSetting=0//1 //EngineMixtureSetting=0//0 EngineBrakingMapSetting=20//20 [DRIVELINE] FinalDriveSetting=8//14/52 (bevel 16/24) //ReverseSetting=2//12/43 (19.964) Gear1Setting=13//11/34 (17.221) Gear2Setting=32//13/32 (13.714) Gear3Setting=51//17/35 (11.471) Gear4Setting=64//15/26 (9.657) Gear5Setting=75//18/27 (8.357) Gear6Setting=87//18/24 (7.429) Gear7Setting=97//20/24 (6.686) //RatioSetSetting=0//N/A //DiffPumpSetting=25//25% //DiffPowerSetting=18//20% //DiffCoastSetting=20//26% //DiffPreloadSetting=4//30 Nm //RearSplitSetting=0// 0.0:100.0 [FRONTLEFT] //CamberSetting=12//-3.90 ° PressureSetting=0//105 kPa PackerSetting=0//5.0 mm //SpringSetting=11//144 N/mm //SpringRubberSetting=0//Detached RideHeightSetting=0//23.0 mm //SlowBumpSetting=12//13 FastBumpSetting=24//25 //SlowReboundSetting=15//16 FastReboundSetting=28//29 BrakeDiscSetting=1//2.70 cm //BrakePadSetting=0//1 [FRONTRIGHT] //CamberSetting=12//-3.90 ° PressureSetting=0//105 kPa PackerSetting=0//5.0 mm //SpringSetting=11//144 N/mm //SpringRubberSetting=0//Detached RideHeightSetting=0//23.0 mm //SlowBumpSetting=12//13 FastBumpSetting=24//25 //SlowReboundSetting=15//16 FastReboundSetting=28//29 BrakeDiscSetting=1//2.70 cm //BrakePadSetting=0//1 [REARLEFT] //CamberSetting=14//-1.10 ° PressureSetting=0//100 kPa PackerSetting=0//7.5 mm //SpringSetting=0//Detached //SpringRubberSetting=0//Detached RideHeightSetting=0//48.0 mm //SlowBumpSetting=12//13 FastBumpSetting=24//25 //SlowReboundSetting=15//16 FastReboundSetting=28//29 BrakeDiscSetting=1//2.70 cm //BrakePadSetting=0//1 [REARRIGHT] //CamberSetting=14//-1.10 ° PressureSetting=0//100 kPa PackerSetting=0//7.5 mm //SpringSetting=0//Detached //SpringRubberSetting=0//Detached RideHeightSetting=0//48.0 mm //SlowBumpSetting=12//13 FastBumpSetting=24//25 //SlowReboundSetting=15//16 FastReboundSetting=28//29 BrakeDiscSetting=1//2.70 cm //BrakePadSetting=0//1 [BASIC] Downforce=0.500000 Balance=0.500000 Ride=0.500000 Gearing=0.500000 Custom=1
Spaskis would you expand with some more detail in creating the slip angle graphs please. I see the formulas just need some more detail to create the channel. This is the formula I used to get the Slip Graph for the X axis for each wheel atan('Lat Patch Vel FL' [m/s] / 'Long Patch Vel FL' [m/s])
@SPASKIS gave me these for slip angle: atan(('Lat Ground Vel FL' [m/s])/('Long Ground Vel FL' [m/s])) And for the coefficient of friction: 'Lat Force FL' [N]/'Tyre Load FL' [N]
Does anyone who plays AC know how to get the lateral force from the tire in the telemetry to obtain the same kind of graphs with that lateral force coefficient vs slip angle? Because there is no mention of it on the logged channels.
No. And actually I dont even know what these are. Edit: Well Ive found the ENABLE_DEV_APPS=1. I think thats what you were taling about. Fy is in there. But how do get I log of it? The ACTI app doenst record it for Motec. Edit2: It appears that tire lateral force is not available for third party apps. I've just loaded a rF2 lap in Motec i2 Pro, and these channels are not there: Lat Patch Vel FL Long Patch Vel FL Lat Ground Vel FL Long Ground Vel FL There is only Ground Speed (not separate for each tire), and then Wheel Rot Speed for each tire. Edit: solved, I see from here [REL] - DAMPlugin for rF2 | Page 2 | Studio-397 Forum , that some channels are optional and must be enabled in the "Extra Channel Config" section of the DAMPlugin.ini
