awesome! I am hoping the AI can sort out their pit strategies in changing weather because they are easily beaten when pitting everytime a drop of rain hits the track
Yeah, this is why I am looking for a 1/5 rain weather day, if there is more, exactly that happens ! Still, it is a great tool, I am always amazed with what these smart codies can think up
WeatherControlTool.dll crashes, surprisingly, as I am not aware of it rendering anything. This is a very big blow to rF2 experience in my book. I know how to rewrite it, but don't have time. If anyone is interested in doing this but not sure where to start, PM me. Static weather tool should work.
@Marcel Offermans It could be great if rFactor2 give us this tool as build. Everybody could continue doing their own plugins, but Studio397 should select a weather provider and put this function in rF2 as build. Furthermore physics and real-road, live weather is something that transforms rFactor2 in a "must to have". Thanks regards
For those who are playing with Oculus like me and can't see to much when its cloudy because its to dark, no way to see the rubber on the tarmac, is there any way to limit, lets say to 50% the amount off clouds in the plugin, I know you can cap the Rain!!! Thks
I can't get this plugin to load on my dedicated server. It never shows up in CustomPluginVariables. I've reinstalled the dedi, reinstalled the runtimes a dozen times but it just won't load and I don't know why. All other plugins are loading no problem. It works on my local machine just fine but on my server it refuses to work
Did you put the 3 files in the correct place ? WeatherControlPlugin.dll > Bin32\Plugins WeatherControlPlugin_x64.dll > Bin64\Plugins WeatherControlPlugin.ini > UserData\Player
Yes, the files are in the correct folders. I have them in the same folders on my local machine and it works as expected, but I don't want to host and race on the same machine. On my dedi the plugin simply doesn't load. Have tried both the 32 and 64 bit dedicated server exes as well.
I do not understand how to get this working. I'm not using a dedicated server or for online - just for online AI races. I also don't need the weather to be live. I just want to change the percentage of rain, which is what I was told possible with this plugin in another thread. Any help?
You can do this in two different ways. If you use the Realtime Weather mode you can cap the rain intensity until a % If you use the User Weather mode you can adjust the percentage of rain that you want. Both options are in their tabs.
Thank you, but I'm not even sure how to install and gt it working. I find the first post to be confusing as there is so much going on.
I agree with you this tool is a bit confusing to use. So, realtimeWeather plugin and does not work on DX11 anymore, the only of the set that works is the one under Static_HMI folder - rFactor2WorldWeather What this tool does is once you ever started the track, rF2 creates .wet file to describe session weather. This tool modifies .wet file. You need to register of weatherUnderground to get free developer key that allows certain amount of free daily queries. In WeatherConfig.xml you put that key here: <Provider id="3" class="WeatherUnderground"> <Parameters> <Parameter name="ApiKey" value="<Your API KEY here>"/> </Parameters> </Provider> it'll look like "6adfff4ff5def7a3" Then, for each track you want to play: <Location name="Austria" inProfiles="1"> <Providers> <Provider id="3"> -- this will use weatherUnderground provider <Parameters> <Parameter name="Longitude" value="14.799624"/> -- track location <Parameter name="Latitude" value="47.208562"/> </Parameters> </Provider> </Providers> <Directories> <Directory path="Austria"/> -- this is directory name under \rFactor 2\UserData\player\Settings\ that game creates for a track, this is where .wet file is. </Directories> </Location> To see it working, in Weather Tool select: * WeatherUndergound as provider * Desired track * click Collect Data - this is where weather is downloaded " Save - this will write .wet file . You can check date modified on a file for your track to be sure everything worked. I found that all tools from this set have problem with some locations/timezones. So I just use same Lognitude/Latitude for all tracks, I use the one that I am sure works correctly - ie it rains when it rains. Hope this helps.
