Thanks Chris, it demands a lot of PS tweaking, rF2 diffuse maps are not properly "diffuse" but albedo maps, so you have to balance the exposure of several channels in your bitmap in order to avoid oversatured and unnatural bright colours. It's not a direct process as rF1 used to be in any sense.

Thank you guys for the kind words.

Actually I should had more progress before to start this thread. The work was so in a early stage, so we get this WIP with months and months from the announce to release. Lesson to be learned for the next track. I was not expecting so many differences from rF1 to rF2 modding procedures. The texture workload is much more heavy now because you have to adjust the exposure and saturate of images carefully or you'll have white +255 stuff all your track around. So, it's been a long curve of learning.

    I'm using this guide: http://wiki.rfactor.net/index.php?title=AlbedoMap

    Steps to do:

    • Grandstands and Bridges
    • Texture Mapping of barriers and kerbs
    • Trees and Posts
    • White lines on track
    • Animated marshals and drunk guys invading the track as the Singapore buddy

Where is this spa and how do I get my hands on it?

BTW, don't worry Satangoss, we'll patiently wait with bated breath.

It is (nice job by McNolo :D) and I turned it into my private experimental playground. :D
The reason for this are the yellow/red kerbs and tirewalls. They look so horrible saturated sometimes and it's so hard to get the colors right, it's just the perfect location to figure out what works and what not (add specular reflection for instance).

    I hope when you're done experimenting, we'll see a combined-efforts superlative version!
