Actually it is owned by George Barber who made his fortune in dairy farming, milk sales, and real estate. He was an amateur SCCA racer with a huge vintage motor cycle collection looking for a place to build a museum. Don't know about a Skippy school but according to Wiki the track is the home of the North American Porsche Driving School. I'm from the south and see Barber milk in all the stores around here. Don't know if its a national brand. http://www.encyclopediaofalabama.org/article/h-1555 Darn, I wish I had know this track was being made. I might have been able to help with texture photos. I've been there for a track day and took a bunch of them. Though I'd say it looks darn good the way it is. Thanks Coutie for this great track!
Ooops, you are right. I was confusing the two Barbers. But this track is still a great training track for the Skippy's nevertheless
V1.167 released Here's v1.167. I think I fixed the marshals, but if not, I've added another layout with no marshals, so you should be able to race the track without any issues. http://simhqmotorsports.com/downloads/motorsports/rfactor2/AlexTracks/Birmingham_SCES_1.167.rfcmp Also, next weekend, we'll be having a race here, feel free to join us, everyone is welcome. http://simhqmotorsports.com/forum/u...85/rFactor_2_-_Indycar_Dallara_@_#Post3726585
Thanks a lot, noticed the toned down white lines, excellent look and feel of track surface. Seems that the track with marshalls works fine now, I made the same race that ended with RF2 crashing with previous version without any problem (19 AI, even with a restart after 5 laps, and later a race with GTs). The track is life like, a real blast to drive, and a match made in heaven for Indycars (the combo demo ISI should offer, it would be very difficult not to buy after having so much fun). This kind of track has the soul that lack so many modern tracks (Silvertone wing comes to my mind). Congratulations once again to all the persons involved.
Latest Birmingham seems to be rid of the CTD problem. Very nice work! Had a 30 min. race with the AI and everything was smooth and trouble free. Great work on the AIW too! The AI cars are very nice to race against!
This Birmingham track is fantastic. Never driven it before. Addictive in the Corvette ZR1. Quite nice looking too. Thanks very much.
Thanks for the update Coutie much appreciated. Regards the Speed Setting (if you havn't found it by now), Select a Waypoint and (from memory) you can view the AI Speed at that waypoint from the Menu, there is a way to edit this so they go through faster, I cannot remember exactly how to do it as I did it ages ago and don't have DevMode on my laptop (currently). Obviously going too high will cause the AI to just crash off to it's tricky to get right with the hundreds of different Mods available, generally you would never touch this setting but there are rare occurrences where you may need too.
I don`t know if I`m doing something wrong, but I uninstalled v116, installed 117, and still my car and AI cars only loading up on oval config... "Force setup" not helping.
I tested it and they were using the road setup. The road setup is the default one, so they should use it now without having to mess with anything.
I try both layouts and on both I get oval config. Uninstalled and installed v117 track one more time - didn`t help. Even removed old file rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings\ISI_DallaraDW12_2014\DW12_Upgrades\trackconfigBarber Motorsports Park.ini - didn`t help. I`m out of ideas.
Do you have the latest Indycar? I think the road course was only made default in the very latest one that was released.
