It seems to be the faster cars having problems. I let the AI drive the Palatov around, and it went through at full speed. Then I put a faster car in and it slowed down a lot.
I can't stop racing at Birmingham... man, it's just too much fun. A few little fixes and it will be legendary.
Now you know why it was one of the first tracks in iRacing. It's also home of the official Skippy school. "Barber" Motorsports Park is Mr. Skip Barber's track. He knows cars and he knows tracks
I was thinking of doing a 2015 version, but I probably wouldn't get to it for a while. AI seems to not like the exit of the chicane type corner. I don't know what "speed setting" is, I don't see anything like that in the menu. I'll work on it tonight, and hopefully I'll fix it and upload a new version.
Regarding the "speed setting," I am sure MarcG would help you...just ask, it may save some wasted time fiddling with the wrong things.
Holy cow, Ive been watching this thread, but didn't realize which track it was.. I ran this countless times in rF1. I personally rate this track close to Oulton for layout fun. Thanks! Hope you can get the little tidbits fixed.
When I click "Version 1.16" at http://simhqmotorsports.com/downloads/ instead of a download all I get is a text page full of hieroglyphics. Just as a check I clicked the Version 1.2 Barbagallo link and I get an actual download. ??
V1.162 ready. AI should go through the back of the track at full speed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/elmer008yd0nh2d/Barber_1162.rfcmp?dl=0
Great track. Some details with graphics: the whites of the curbs and sand are now so intense they stick a bit to the eye (probably related to recent HDR changes). The grass looks muddy, as if textures were wrongly mapped or something. Road surface looks sharp.
Seems to me that AI Indycars have hard time on the 2nd last corner, close to the pit entry. Tested with default and my setups (fixed for AI).
Effectively, AI runs fine now. Made a 15 mn race with Indycars, was running fifth in the last lap when RF2 crashed. Sorry to report the crash, the track is really fine and challenging.
I was having the same problem with Birmingham and Monza, Opened Chrome and they downloaded fine. Guess it is a problem with Internet Explorer
+1 Hate to even comment because the track is awesome, but it would be even closer to perfect if the intensity of the white paint (curbs and probably pit area too) and sand were reduced a bit.
That's an easy thing to fix. I'll do it for the next version. Anyone tried racing without AI? Do you get a crash like that? I'll do some testing today, hopefully it can finally be solved.
