    Back. :)

Ok, so first thing first, setup your t500 control panel like so:

Except for the "Overall Strength of all forces" i set to 70%. Reason being that 70% actually has a slightly higher max torque output of around 8~9%. Why not take advantage of it. :) It only suffers a little bit of ffb clipping of forces in the 90-100% which is really not a big issue in my experience.

Next setup the "steering torque minimum" to 3% ("0.03000") in the controller.ini file. ffb smoothing = 0 ingame.

FFB multiplier: 0.77 for Megane, 1.0 for Karts, 0.84 for Ponaz....i don't have exact values for others in memory because I've been testing different values recently. I've gone a little bit back up again trying to find a good compromise between overall high strength in the wheel across all forces (even with STM you need to find the right balance in the ffb multiplier to set a good feel throughout the ffb band). This is the part that can take time but with experience you will find a good value that may suit you better.

For the megane and karts (especially the karts), i find these values to be very good for me.

Changed the "steering torque minimum" to 2.85% ("0.02850") and feels a bit better with the less of the occasional random vibration/judder of the wheel when driving in the karts.

    Thanks DrR1pper :)
    I will give them a try :)

Ive got all the software downloaded and I have found a profile for rfactor and gtr evo, so I just need a wheel now....
Waiting patiently for the postman to call....

New wheel arrived mid afternoon yesterday so only had a few hours to get it up and running and do a few laps.
The wheel is a monster isn't it?! And the pedals!
Took a good hour or more to dismantle my rig and get the new set in.....
But it was definitely worth it....
I popped your settings in, and set off round mid ohio as I've been using that track as a base to work from

Brilliant :) So much more detailed feel through the 500. Will take a while getting used to my new button layout but what a difference.
I also installed the brake pressure mod.....finally the brakes resemble a real brake pedal. .

Then the Mrs dragged me away kicking and screaming and won't be able to get back till Sunday.

lol....well i'm glad you're happy with it (not that i was worried it would go the other way). :p

Did you get the 458 rim? If so, you can also remove the static shifters completely, without voiding your warranty. Let me know if you want the pdf instructions on how to. ;)

Fyi, i don't use the t500 pedals but they are very beastly and very well constructed. I use CSP v2 pedals instead.

No I didn't get the f1 rim. Pretty much just driving tin tops.
Have done f1 in the past on rf1 but will wait for a decent f1 mid to come out before splashing out more cash.
I'll get used to the fixed shifters they're a lot bigger than the g27s so not a big an issue as I thought they might be.

Looks nice. ..shifters move with the wheel?
I didn't see that as an option. ..is it an add on like the f1 rim?

Yes, shifters are fixed onto the detatchable wheel rim and the rim is an addon exactly like the f1 rim.

Just found it..another 100 quid...I'll stick with the original ;-)
Out of interest are there any quick release things for these wheels...be nice to take mine off when using PC for other things. This one is bigger than g27 and is perfect for racing but gets in the way for other things

Fair enough. I did look for a t500 that came with the 458 rim attached when i bought mine (which is available with the F1 rim) but no luck.

There is no official quick release mechanism for the t500 but there are some custom made ones around on the internet but not sure if their for sale.

I'm pretty sure this is just the original t500rs wheel rim which can be bought for those who purchased a t500 with the F1 rim attached (only). It doesn't say quicky release anywhere either. Of course, all the rims are detachable or else you wouldn't be able to switch between all 3 rims for the t500 (well, actually 4 if you can include the tx's rim i guess).

    Sorry for another question....
The 458 addon rim, do the existing shifters come off?
What exactly is the rotary switch on the bottom right of the wheel and what would you assign that too?
I like the idea of the flippers turning with the wheel and am tempted but there are 3 less push switches on the 458
