When I said that the Atl-M thing was never suggested I was more referrering to ISI staff - I thought they might've mentioned it as something to try even if it's not an ideal solution. Anyway, thanks for your help with this stuff.
What has that got to do with........ Don't nit pick me mate I not in the mood. I made 2 totally reasonable statements. Finnito
Sorry, yeah, that possibility dawned on me after my last post. Apologies for coming over a bit grouchy, very tired! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Now I'm confused. You quoted my post mentioning a thread title. What has that got to do with nVidia Inspector? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
I'd like to reiterate that tracks can be built so that Alt-M isn't required, all it's doing is setting the mip lod bias of all materials to 0.0. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Interesting, I can't use 4x 4x, and even with 2x 2x I sometimes drop under 60fps. I'm not maxed, I should have Max for all but: Opponent detail to high, AFx8, shaddow Max and smoothing shadow (don't know in english as it appear in french for me) set to quick, Particles and both reflections to low. I play 1920x1080 (single screen), usually with 13 AIs (I'm not superstitious) I play mainly without cockpit, nothing but HUD (to save fps and viewing surface). Core is I7 3770K OC to 4,4GHz and GTX670 not OC, 8GBRam. I'm curious to understand why such differences...Don't know differences between I7 and I5, at least your go faster Perhaps I should try again to OC my GTX, each time I tried it was a ridiculous fps gain... Edit: Sorry for the above OT Edit 2 : WWAAOOUU ! Alt+M is for Magic? What a difference! no more jaggy, pretty cool! BTW, for French keyboard it's ALT+? instead (where the M is usually for Qwerty keyboard). I want this as an Option !!!
@YoLolo69 we have almost identical hardware(i5 3570 oc4.2, gtx670 default clocks, 16ram) and I can't use 4x 4x. Even with 2x 2x using some mods like the WSGT2 Megane Trophy I drop below 40fps at the start of the race for a few corners. I also use adaptive vsync, everything to full except reflections to low and shadows blur to off and 20 AI. Maybe we need to OC our gpus. I'll try the alt+m thing
Does alt-m blur textures therefore loosing quality and detail, sort of like how FXAA and morphological aa do? Or is this different?
No, just no... FXAA = Post processing edge detection and blurring. Alt + M is completely different. Take a look at my post on page 1 of this thread, post #17. You can't get back more details with FXAA. It just blurs the whole image and eventually makes some edges look better. But Aliasing which occured from rasterizing the image in the first place cannot be cured by FXAA. Using Alt + M will make you lose some sharpness in the distance (it's something completely different compared to FXAA though), but the overall much cleaner image is just too good for me to notice the minimal blur, especially in motion!
Many do I think. It's a pretty straightforward little program. I always wonder why Nvidia doesn't put all these options in their regular control center, putting them in an advanced tab with a warning "for more experienced users" or something.
Cheers for all the hard work Spinelli! I have the same card and like you said 8x Multisample still looked best when using 8X Sparse Grid. What a massive improvement on the AA. I cant achieve 120FPS like you though. Do you get that on Silverstone?
