So, first test: It works! Aberration is there, but surprisingly not that noticeable. Positional tracking seems great. I'm not sure if the FOV is right, tested a few different values but hard to get it perfect. Things are definitely a bit stretched vertically. Also, as everything else in VR it is VERY sensitive to low FPS. Feels good to be back on the nordschliefe in the rift again though!
" ... set TriDef 3D Display type to Oculus Rift and Game Resolution" not giving me that option just fpr, side by side, advanced
Got it running and boy I never had that much fun standing in the pits Time to set everything up for an extended session at the Nordschleife. Vittorio you are the man, I'd like to thank you with a little donation if possible. But how? I sense a tiny delay but since I got used to TrackIR quickly in the past this should be a non-issue. Do you have your rift connected and running? I had mine running as extended desktop before I installed TriDef. Has been 12 days since I installed the trial so maybe I forgot something but as far as I remember I could choose it without any issues: View attachment 14070
TriDef 3D Ignition->Tools->Display Settings.. set 3D Display type to Oculus Rift and Game Resolution. You don't have the option Oculus Rift? What does TriDef 3D Ignition->Help->About give you version informations? Should be TriDef 3D 6.3 and TriDef 3D Ignition 3.8.5
hiya not doing so good here getting this now just allocated the main rf2 executable (no idea if it's 32bit or 64bit?) also, setting my rift as the primary monitor -this different to everything else right? (I have usual settings, rift in multi mode , rotated etc)
looks like you have a rfactor2 launcher instance already running? close all rfactor2 launchers and start rFactor2 out of Tridef Ignition EDIT: Before messing with Tridef try to install the plugin. See if headtracking works in rfactor2 without using Tridef (and use the Monitor as Primary extended display). Then mess with Tridef and DK2 as primary extended display. EDIT2: I have added informations how to start rfactor2 out of Tridef, maybe this helps
Make sure to bind a key to Safe FOV in Tridef as well, otherwise it's really hard to navigate the menus in rFactor. Unfortunately my Tridef literally just expired. Bad timing, and I can't use my license since I switched to a Nvidia card. Hopefully support can help me out. Anyway, fantastic work Vittorio! How much work was it integrating this into a plugin like this?
Thanks One day to mess around with the SDK, windows and development tools. Windows is a pain to develop. One day to code (most of the code I already had due to neck model implementation). One day test all variants: rF1, rF2, DK1, Dk2 and driving nordschleife all the time
You should use the 32 bit version without the x64 in the name. And set rfactor2 to use 32bit mode: rFactor2 Launcher -> Advanced -> Use 32bit executables on 64bit cabable operating systems
hiya -this is an endurance test right now lol thanks for your help vittorio, trying to see if tracking would work (just sending to monitor) but seem to getting this
Does the tracking work without using Tridef (not starting rfactor2 out of Tridef Ignition) and using the Monitor as Primary extended display (the rift as secondary)?
yes, if your Rfit is on it should work. but only in race. you should see a plugin icon top left when entering race. headtracking 13sec after entering race
so the plugin activates tracking without tridef or anything else running this (your plugin) in my plugins in my plugin folder : Rf2Rift_3_0_test1.dll my fr2 now in 32 bit rf2 in 32 mode (ticked) tracking works in everything else etc not sure what it could be
did you remove the file C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\Bin32\Plugins\TrackIR_rF2_Plugin.dll ? And you put Rf2Rift_3_0_test1.dll in C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\Bin32\Plugins\ ? Your DK2 is switched on? You have configured DK2 display mode to "Extended Desktop to the HMD"
