Hi: When I want to configure a Jumbotron in a track, I use "Wet windshield" or "Heat Effect" shaders, because it are the only with "Frame Buffer" available, but the resulting image is like a zoom, don't show a complete image, like T1 shader did. There is something to improve this, any configuration or new shader to show the complete image buffer? Thanks.
In the past it was possible to use a simple T1 shader with the Frame Buffer option, which is what you'd want to use for a jumbotron. I don't know the exact reason why it has been limited to those couple of (complex) shaders. I'll try to figure that out though .
Yep. The T1 shader is all you'll need as the rF2_track_tech pdf says; Frame Buffer Materials You can use the frame buffer as a texture. This can be used for video monitors, jumbotrons, etc. This is pretty easy to do. Simply: 1. Set up a material to use as the surface of the video screen. Typically a T1 shader works fine. Be sure to set the Emissive color to full white so it can be seen at night. 2. For the material’s T1 texture stage, assign a placeholder texture and check the “Frame Buffer” checkbox. Make sure you have properly UV mapped the surface that will display the frame buffer texture. In order to prevent the effect of the frame buffer infinitely repeating its own image when the frame buffer is being rendered, simply place a black polygon behind it, and offset it slightly to prevent sorting issues. So, I guess it's just something needs to be sorted out in the shader.
Hi guys, I have a little issue with jumbotrons when the cockpit cam is active, i follow the steps that tuttle explained with one variation in my 3dmax the checkbox "FrameBuffer" is not "visible" View attachment 7393 so with the 3dsimed 3.0j i've opened the material and set the framebuffer from false to true, but in the game i have this issue in the cockpit cam, Someone knows what this hapened? Cheers,
Probably a simple alpha sorting issue. I had the same at Fuji where the Jumbotrons are behind a fence, so I removed them entirely.
Thanks, but maybe I don't explain me well. In the first plugins versions, the "Frame Buffer" option was avaiable in T1 Shader, and all was very easy for configure a jumbotron with great results, but now this option is deactivated. Why? It's possible activated it again? Thanks.
Superb, this option was removed and it seems nobody of ISI knows why. The worst thing is that you give instructions that makes time that do not work.
